Description

5″ Blue High Capacity Rubber Wheel. Ball Bearings in the Wheel. Shown with 5″ wheel. This K3A total lock caster is defined by their brake, which locks the swivel bearing and wheel at the same time. This institutional plate caster is assembled with stamped steel and zinc plated to resist corrosion. This plate caster uses a ⅜” diameter axle and the swivel caster raceway is held together by a ½” diameter rivet. Plate Caster Model K3A caster brackets have two rows of ball bearings rotating on raceways for smoother swiveling. There is a solid cover over the swivel raceways to shield them from dirt and dust. This plate caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1200 lbs on a set of 4 Model K3A casters.

The RHB High Capacity Blue Rubber Wheel is an excellent choice for the Zinc-Plated Total Locking Swivel Stem Caster Model K3A, designed for light-duty institutional needs in pharmaceutical labs, hospitals, and food service areas, supporting up to 350 lbs per wheel on smooth floors from -20°F to 450°F, with a 1.25-inch width and available in 3”, 4”, and 5” diameters, featuring a non-marking blue thermoplastic rubber tire mechanically and chemically bonded to a polyolefin core with a Shore 65AA durometer, offering bearing options of delrin bearings or annular ball bearings to maximize capacity, providing quiet operation, shock absorption, vibration reduction, and resistance to many chemicals and solvents, ideal for rolling over small objects and protecting floors, though not suited for shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, rough floors, or standing loads (reduce capacity by 50% for manual movement and avoid prolonged parking to prevent flat spots). The zinc-plated caster bracket, made from stamped steel with a 1/2” stainless steel rivet as the center pin and a 3/8” axle, includes a double ball bearing swivel for smooth movement, a total locking brake (TL) with a black nylon pedal that simultaneously locks the wheel and swivel bearing to ensure complete immobilization, and modular stem options like grip ring stems, threaded stems, round stems, square stems, stems with cross holes (both round and square), and expanding rubber stems for versatile mounting in institutional equipment like carts or tables; matching the mounting height of the Model 3 series, the K3A provides a total locking option with limited corrosion resistance in dry environments, making it a reliable choice for institutional settings where stability and quiet mobility are critical, though not suited for washdowns or highly corrosive conditions.
