Description
DO NOT ORDER SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS IF YOU ORDER THE TL – TOTAL LOCK BRAKE. THE TL BRAKE WILL NOT WORK WITH EITHER THE SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS.
The Model 9 Swivel is the most widely specified industrial plate caster because of its cost effectiveness and expansive wheel lineup. Underneath the mounting plate, 2 rows of balls rotate on heat treated raceways to provide dependable swiveling. A welded nut and bolt center pin is engineered to handle typical abuse in hand operated applications. Kingpin bolt diameter is 5/8″ with leg thickness at 1/4″, welded on the inside and outside. The 1/2″ diameter axle is designed for wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. Stamped steel construction with zinc plated frames provides rust resistance, and lubrication fittings on all moveable parts ensure long service life. Model 9 offers a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. Ideal for electronics assembly, laboratory carts, and hospital equipment. Additional mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also manufactured in 304 Stainless Steel for corrosive environments.
The soft blue ergonomic rubber “BL” is an ergonomic rubber wheel capable of supporting above average load ratings with a highly resilient tire. This caster comes with a blue, non-marking, injection molded thermoplastic rubber tire mechanically bonded to a polyolefin center. The tire is made of copolymer rubber with excellent elastic properties. What makes this elastomer special is its ability to bounce – resilience in a wheel material is a necessary feature in order to protect the cargo being moved. These ergonomic rubber industrial caster wheels are non-marking, quiet, absorb shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protect costly floor surfaces, and minimize vibration. They provide a softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. Caster City manufactures this industrial caster rubber wheel with sealed precision ball bearings in the hub that are bushed down with top hat spanners. These caster wheels should not be left standing under load for extended periods as the tires may take a permanent “set” or develop flat spots. Ideal for pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, and food service applications.
