Description

Model 9 Rigid Casters are the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When moving machinery by hand with 4 swivel casters it can be tough to control the direction of push or pull. Rigid casters are used to control the direction of equipment being moved in straight line travel. Equipment with rigid casters installed can not move sideways. Rigid casters are usually attached to the opposite end of where the push handle is placed. Leg thickness is 1/4″ with an axle diameter of 1/2″, designed to accept wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. This caster is constructed from stamped steel. Rigid casters are rated to carry more weight than swivel casters because they have no offset, yet on our website both rigid and swivel casters are shown with the same capacity. Ideal for woodworking shops, plastics manufacturing, and chemical plants. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. A 304 Stainless Steel construction is also available for corrosive or wet service.

The soft blue ergonomic rubber caster wheel is an excellent choice for light duty industrial applications where you need a high capacity rubber tire with high resilience. This caster comes with a blue, non-marking, injection molded thermoplastic rubber tire mechanically bonded to a polyolefin center. The tire is made of copolymer rubber with excellent elastic properties – what makes this elastomer special is its ability to bounce. Resilience in a wheel material is a necessary feature in order to protect the cargo being moved. These blue soft rubber wheels are non-marking, quiet, absorb shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protect costly floor surfaces, and minimize vibration. They can be used on almost any dry factory floor. Caster City manufactures this industrial caster rubber wheel with sealed precision ball bearings in the hub that are bushed down with top hat spanners. The bonding agent which holds the rubber tire to its polyolefin center can be affected by exposure to some chemicals, impact, overloading, and the buildup of heat. Ideal for pharmaceutical laboratories, institutional applications, and hospitals.
