Description
Rigid Caster Model 9 is the matching rigid for the Model 9 Swivel Caster. When manually operating equipment supported by 4 swivel casters the direction of push or pull can be hard to manage. Rigid casters are primarily used to control the direction when equipment is being moved in direct line travel. Equipment with rigid casters installed can not move sideways. Rigid casters are usually positioned at the opposite end from the push handle. Leg thickness measures 1/4″ and the axle diameter is 1/2″, sized for wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The caster is stamped steel construction. Rigids can handle greater loads than swivel casters because they have no offset, nevertheless on our website both rigid and swivel casters are shown with the same capacity. Ideal for paper converting, bottling operations, and dairy processing plants. Other mounting plate sizes and bearing types are available on request. This caster can also be ordered in a 304 Stainless Steel construction for wet or corrosive environments.
Nylon caster wheels are an excellent choice for supporting heavy loads without using a metal wheel since they can not develop a flat spot. Nylon is resistant to greases, oils, blood, acids, bases, organic solvents, chemicals, salt, brine, and cleaning solutions. This solid nylon industrial caster wheel is a hard composite material that can withstand shock loads and impact loads. This solid wheel is injection molded from nylon 6 and is 100% washable, steam cleanable, and impervious to water. The hard tread has a slight crown and rolls very easily. This non-marking wheel has a Durometer of 75D and offers high abrasion resistance and toughness. This caster wheel can come equipped with Delrin bearings or plain bore. Ideal for pharmaceutical facilities, food processing plants, and environments exposed to corrosive substances.
