Description

8″ Phenolic Wheel. Size shown in photo is 6 x 2. A Stainless Steel rigid Caster Model G15 is made of 304 stainless using a stamped steel construction and is excellent for corrosive applications. The mounting plate and legs of the caster are ¼” thick 304 stainless steel. This caster is ROHS and NSF compliant. This stainless steel rigid caster uses a 1/2” diameter axle. Choose rigid casters when you must maneuver a load up and down ramps, or if you need to go in a straight line often. This Stainless steel plate caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1200 lbs per rigid caster.

Caster City Phenolic wheels are a hard composition caster wheel which are non-marking in nature, making them excellent for supporting heavy stationary loads for long periods of time. Phenolic can not develop a flat spot if left parked for a long period under load, and the wheel is capable of withstanding shock loads and the impacts of small obstructions. Phenolic can absorb water and other chemicals if excessive exposure occurs. Phenolic caster wheels come standard with a roller bearing and have precision sealed ball bearings as an option. This caster wheel comes in diameters that range from 3” to 18” and the width of the wheels ranges from 1-¼” to 4”. All phenolic wheels have a Durometer of Shore D 90 and the temperature range is -40° to +250° F. Contact us if you need help with placing an order: 800-501-3808

Phenolic Caster Wheels from Caster City

Our Phenolic Caster Wheels, made from macerated canvas mixed with phenolic resin and molded under high pressure and temperature are a cost-effective, hard-composition, non-marking solution ideal for supporting heavy stationary loads that move infrequently. With a hardness comparable to polished maple flooring and a Durometer of Shore D 90, these wheels are designed to handle large loads comparable to metal wheels without developing flat spots, even when parked for prolonged periods under load. Available in diameters from 3” to 18” and widths from 1-¼” to 4”, they come standard with roller bearings or optional precision sealed ball bearings, making them perfect for smooth concrete surfaces in industrial settings like warehouses or manufacturing facilities.

These phenolic caster wheels are highly resistant to oil, grease, gasoline, and mild acids, and can withstand shock loads and impacts from small obstructions. They are recommended for storage loads without permanent set and offer slight floor wear, except on already deteriorating surfaces. For enhanced performance, a laminated unmacerated tread option provides 25% more capacity and greater chip resistance, though the wheel material may chip or cut from contact with steel plates or rough surfaces. With a temperature range of -40°F to +250°F, and intermittent use up to 300°F, these wheels are built for durability in dry environments where they excel in supporting heavy static loads.

While Phenolic Caster Wheels are tough and versatile, they are not suitable for wet applications or environments with excessive exposure to water, oil, or chemicals, as they can slowly absorb these substances and fail over time. For applications involving routine moisture or strong acids and alkaline solutions, consider alternative wheel materials. Ideal for dry, high-capacity settings requiring impact resistance and floor protection, these wheels are a reliable, economical choice. The 304 stainless steel frame resists rust and chemicals, perfect for washdowns.

What is the load capacity of the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15?

The Model G15 supports up to 1500 lbs per caster, but it depends on the wheel you pick. It’s rated for manual or powered use on smooth floors, no steep inclines over 3 degrees, and speeds under 3 mph.

What bearing options are available for the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15 with PB Polyolefin Wheel?

For the Model G15 stainless caster with PB Polyolefin Wheel, you can choose stainless steel roller bearings (SSR), stainless steel precision sealed ball bearings (SSPSBB), sealed precision bearings (SPS), precision sealed ball bearings (PS), roller bearings (R), ball bearings (B), bronze (BRNZ), Delrin bearings (D), or plain bore (P). These let you customize for wet environments.

Why choose the PB Polyolefin Wheel for the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15?

The 304 stainless steel frame resists rust and chemicals, making it great for wet spots with frequent cleaning. The polyolefin wheel handles water, mild acids (below 10%), grease, and oils, so it fits labs and food service well, but skip it for high-acid stuff.
