Description
Rigid Model 9 Caster is the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When moving equipment by hand on 4 swivel casters it can be difficult to control which direction you are traveling. Rigid casters help control direction when equipment is moving in a straight line. Machinery with rigid casters can not move sideways. Rigid casters are typically connected at the opposite end from the push handle. Leg thickness is 1/4″ with a 1/2″ diameter axle, designed to accept wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. Constructed from stamped steel, rigid casters can carry more weight than swivels because they do not have an offset, yet on our website both types are shown with the same capacity. Ideal for plant maintenance carts, tool cribs, and die storage racks. Additional mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also manufactured in 304 Stainless Steel for environments exposed to moisture or chemicals.
Nylon caster wheels are capable of supporting a capacity comparable to most metal wheels while weighing very little and without the risk of damaging your floors. Nylon is resistant to greases, oils, blood, acids, bases, organic solvents, chemicals, salt, brine, and cleaning solutions. This solid nylon industrial caster wheel is a hard composite material that can withstand shock loads and impact loads. Injection molded from nylon 6, this wheel is 100% washable, steam cleanable, and impervious to water. This industrial caster wheel can not develop flat spots, even under prolonged static loads. The non-marking tread has a Durometer of 75D with a slight crown that rolls very easily. This caster wheel offers excellent abrasion resistance. This caster wheel comes with plain bore, precision sealed ball bearings, or roller bearings. Ideal for packaging facilities, wet processing environments, and manufacturing.
