Description
The Model 9 swivel casters are our most popular industrial caster for many reasons but largely because of its low cost and varied selection of wheels. Under the mounting plate it has 2 rows of balls that pivot on heat treated raceways. The swivel caster has a bolt and nut center pin welded for hand powered applications and designed to withstand customary abuse. The leg thickness is 1/4”, welded on the inside and out and the center bolt diameter is 5/8”. The metal frames are plated in zinc for rust protection and it has grease fittings for all transportable parts. Model 9 has an extensive selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. We have other wheel bearing types and mounting plates available upon request.
DO NOT ORDER SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS IF YOU ORDER THE TL – TOTAL LOCK BRAKE. THE TL BRAKE WILL NOT WORK WITH EITHER THE SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS.
Our “TP” high temperature wheels, crafted from fiberglass, phenol resin, and heat-resistant additives, are NSF Listed, RoHS Compliant, and Food Service Approved, designed for 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters with a 2-inch width for heavy duty industrial casters in model 9, offering up to 1200 lbs capacity per wheel for the 8×2 size at room temperature on smooth floor surfaces in dry high heat environments like bakery ovens, powder coating plants, and dry heat autoclaves. These high heat casters handle continuous operation up to 475°F and can withstand 525°F for 30 minutes, requiring cooling to room temperature afterward to maintain their lifespan. The hard, non-marking surface of these heat caster wheels demands smooth floors, as rough surfaces or obstructions can wear them down, and they must be shielded from direct heat sources like flames to prevent damage, making them ideal for high-temperature, food-safe tasks in model 9 applications.
Engineered for dry high heat only, these “TP” high temperature casters and wheels are not suited for moist heat, where our “NP” high temperature wheels are recommended, but deliver cost-effective performance for model 9 setups in extreme dry heat conditions. Their NSF and Food Service approvals ensure suitability for food processing, while RoHS compliance guarantees eco-friendly materials, supporting heavy loads without marking floors in bakeries or powder coating facilities. By using these heavy duty industrial casters on smooth floors and protecting them from direct heat, model 9 users achieve reliable, high-performance mobility for demanding dry high heat operations.
