Model 9 Swivel Casters are the most popular industrial plate caster available because of the low initial cost and wide assortment of wheel types. The swivel system has 2 rows of balls rotating on heat treated raceways beneath the mounting plate for consistent performance. A welded nut and bolt center pin resists normal abuse in manually operated applications. The kingpin bolt is 5/8″ in diameter and the 1/4″ thick legs are welded on the inside and out. A 1/2″ diameter axle is built to use wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The stamped steel caster is zinc plated for rust resistance and includes lubrication fittings for all moveable parts. Model 9 offers a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. Ideal for water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, and environmental remediation equipment. Other mounting plate sizes and bearing types are available on request. This caster is also available in 304 Stainless Steel for wet or chemically aggressive applications.

The DSC Ductile Steel industrial caster wheel features a slight crown on the tread, unlike the flat tread on the standard DS wheel. When your application calls for severe conditions and is too heavy for floor protective wheels, the DSC Ductile steel industrial caster wheel will do the job. The crowned tread greatly reduces the force needed to change directions from a stopped position. Ductile steel wheels are selected due to their ductility and tensile strength, which allows them to absorb shocks and impacts without failure. These solid steel wheels are incredibly durable in normal service and ensure reliable performance in rugged environments. Caster City manufactures all of our steel wheels with a lubrication fitting in the hub. We offer DSC Ductile steel industrial caster wheels with roller bearings or sealed precision ball bearings, with load ratings determined solely by bearing capacity. Ductile steel wheels like this can withstand high temperatures up to 400°F depending upon the application. Ductile steel industrial caster wheels are destructive to most factory floors and are typically used while on steel plating to protect manufacturing facilities from floor damage. Ideal for blast furnace operations, heavy fabrication shops, die and mold transport, and automotive assembly.

V-Groove Ductile steel caster wheels have high ductility and tensile strength, and thus can absorb shock or impact to a point. These solid wheels are incredibly durable in normal service. Their load ratings are limited by bearing capacity only.  These steel wheels are capable of temperatures up to 700° F depending upon the application. At temperatures above 400° F continuous, steel roller bearings and spanner bushings can start to anneal. In applications where temperatures are above 400° F please consult our engineering department for further assistance.

This caster is available in Stainless Steel Model 9.  It is constructed from 304 Stainless Steel.  This is an excellent caster for wet or corrosive applications if your total weight exceeds 1000lbs.  It comes with the same large selection of wheels, some of which are also NSF and ROHS compliant.
