Description

Plate Caster Model 9 Rigid is the matching rigid caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When manually moving equipment supported by 4 swivel casters the direction of travel can be difficult to control. Rigid casters are primarily used to control direction when moving equipment in a straight line. Equipment with rigids installed can not move sideways. Rigid casters are usually connected at the opposite end from the push handle. Legs are 1/4″ thick with a 1/2″ diameter axle designed for wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The caster is made from stamped steel construction. Rigid casters can handle more weight than swivel casters because they do not have an offset, however on our website both rigid and swivel casters are displayed with the same capacity. Ideal for electronics assembly, laboratory carts, and hospital equipment. Additional mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also manufactured in 304 Stainless Steel for corrosive environments.
Caster City has designed the PCI industrial caster wheel to have a large crown tread to the surface of the tire, which assists in changing direction. This industrial caster wheel offers a flexible red polyurethane crown tread on iron, helping it to withstand impacts and heavy loads while changing directions efficiently. The 90A Durometer polyurethane is slightly softer and more flexible than standard polys, offering a more cushioned ride. Polyurethane caster wheels will roll more easily on a smooth floor than rubber caster wheels. Polyurethane offers higher capacity while still providing some floor protection compared to hard composition wheels. This wheel resists grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. The durable iron core supports demanding applications. This caster wheel is equipped with precision sealed ball bearings or roller bearings. If your application will expose this wheel to heavy impacts, overloading, chemicals, or continuous usage, the bonding agent can be affected. The temperature range is -20°F to 180°F. Ideal for assembly line carts, work-in-progress carts, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance equipment.
