Description

The Plate Caster Model 9 is the most commonly specified industrial swivel caster due to its economical cost and the wide range of wheels offered. Under the mounting plate, 2 rows of balls run on heat treated raceways for smooth swiveling. A nut and bolt center pin is welded to endure normal abuse in manually operated applications. The kingpin bolt diameter is 5/8″ with 1/4″ thick legs welded inside and outside. The axle is 1/2″ in diameter, designed to use wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The stamped steel frame features zinc plating for rust resistance, and lubrication fittings are installed on all moveable parts. Model 9 offers a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. Ideal for paper converting, bottling operations, and dairy processing plants. Other mounting plate sizes and bearing types are available on request. This caster can also be ordered in a 304 Stainless Steel construction for wet or corrosive environments.
Polyurethane Caster Wheels from Caster City offer superior performance compared to rubber wheels, excelling in resistance to grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. Available in green (PY) or red (PYR) polyurethane tread bonded to a durable iron core, these wheels are designed for versatility and can be used on nearly any factory floor. With a tire hardness of 90—95 Durometer (Shore A), they provide excellent durability while maintaining a temperature range of -20°F to 180°F. The primary advantage of polyurethane wheels over rubber is their significantly higher load capacity – up to three times that of a comparable rubber wheel under ideal conditions on smooth floors. While polyurethane wheels roll more easily than rubber at the same load, they may become less easy-rolling when pushed to their maximum capacity. Available with precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings. Ideal for material handling, platform trucks, and assembly line carts.
