3″ Black Polyolefin Wheel – Plain Stem Model K3A

Description

3″ Black Donut Polyolefin Wheel. Ball Bearings in the Wheel. Shown in photo with 5″ wheels. This K3A stem caster is made from stamped steel that is zinc plated for corrosion resistance. This stem caster uses a ⅜” diameter axle and the swivel  caster raceway is held together by a ½” diameter rivet. The stem caster raceways have two ball bearings to assist with changing direction and to handle thrust loads.  There is a solid cover over the swivel raceways to shield them from dirt and dust.   This stem caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1000 lbs on a set of 4 model 3 casters. Polyolefin Caster Wheels are injection molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers forming a one piece solid sanitary design. These Polyolefin wheels are especially suited for wet and corrosive applications. They are very resistant to most commonly encountered liquids. Polyolefin wheels have a lower capacity and a more limited temperature range than Nylon wheels. In a cold dry environment, such as a refrigerated store room, Polyolefin wheels may become brittle. They should not be used in a freezer or a heat application above 180°F intermittent usage, such as a rack washer.

This donut shaped wheel comes with sealed ball bearings in the wheel. It’s tread shape enables it to change directions much more easily.
