3″ Gray Soft Rubber Wheel. Shown in photo with 5″ wheels. Stainless Steel stem Caster Model 3A has a unique brake which locks the swivel bearing and wheel simultaneously. A total lock brake locks the swivel and the wheel. It latches them simultaneously by one foot on the brake pedal. The plate caster swivel model 3A has a metal total lock pedal. It is simple to turn on but not as simple to let go as the nylon brake pedal featured on K3. The metal lock can only be reached if the release deise with the type of your shoe which may not allow enough burden to be utilized to unlock the brake. This is not an issue with the nylon brake pedal on model k3. The metal total lock brake pedal is an alternative on 3a swivels. The metal pedal is shown slightly under the mounting plate of the swivel caster and slightly over the wheel. The metal pedal protrudes behind the wheel so the toe of your foot can simply reach the activation pedal. The metal pedal burrows into polyurethane and rubber tires more than the nylon pedal. The amount of the metal pedal total lock brake is more than the cost of a total lock brake with a nylon pedal. Neither type of total lock brake are possible on a caster rigid.
This gray rubber caster wheel is made from injection-molded soft gray rubber, making it a non-marking wheel. The axle diameter of this caster wheel is ⅜” and the width of the wheel is 1-¼”.This soft gray rubber caster wheel comes with a durometer of 90-95A, making it excellent for indoor usage on smooth surfaces to reduice noise and vibration. This gray soft rubber caster wheel is assembled with a sealed precision ball bearing that is further guarded by two plastic spanner bushings which also act as thread guards, rotating against the axle and further protecting the bearing from direct water or chemical exposure. These caster wheels should not be left standing under load for extended periods as the tires may take a permanent “set” or develop flat spots.
