Plate Caster Model 9 Rigid is the equivalent plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel Caster. When manually moving systems supported by four swivel casters it can be problematic to control the direction you are pulling or pushing. Rigid casters support in controlling equipment being moved in straight line travel. Equipment with both rigid casters can not move sideways. Rigid Casters are usually installed at the opposite end of the push handle and contain have 2 legs perpendicular to the mounting plate. Leg thickness is 1/4”. The axle diameter is 1/2” long and is designed to use wheels with a hub width of 2 7/16”. This caster is built from stamped steel. Rigid Casters can carry more load than swivel casters because they do not have an offset. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request.
These wheels provide high load capacity without causing floor wear associated with metal wheels. Unlike polyurethane wheels, there is no risk of flat spots or delamination if these wheels are left parked for a prolonged period. Instead of injection molding, these wheels are compression molded and then machined. Their straight sided shape maximizes load capacity.
