Description
5″ Polyolefin ( Black ) Wheel. Stainless Precision Sealed Ball Bearings in the Wheel. Size shown in photo is 6 x 2. Choose Stem Above. The Stainless steel stem caster G15 offers our highest load capacity for a stem caster with either a ¾” or 1” diameter threaded stainless steel stem. It’s precision machined swivel bearing contains a combination load and thrust bearing which enables easier swiveling and reduced swivel vibration. This caster uses the same 2” wide wheels as Stainless Steel Model 9, offering a wide range of wheel material and bearings. This stainless steel stem caster is a kingpinless design, meaning there is no integral center pin that can fail. This stainless steel caster is designed with a ½” axle and it’s maximum rated capacity is 1500lbs per swivel caster. This stainless steel stem caster is not intended to be used as a leveling device, doing so will cause it to fail prematurely. If your stainless steel application calls for more than 6000lbs of total weight on four casters, please consult with us for a recommendation.
The PB Polyolefin Wheel in the Stainless Steel Kingpinless Stem Caster Model SS-G15 is a great choice for institutional needs in settings like pharmaceutical labs, food processing plants, and wet environments where lightweight, non-marking mobility and corrosion resistance are essential. This 2-inch wide wheel, available in 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters, holds up to 300 lbs per wheel at room temperature, featuring a one-piece solid sanitary design injection-molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers. It’s resistant to most commonly encountered liquids, making it ideal for wet or mildly corrosive applications, and it won’t develop flat spots if parked for long periods, though it has a lower capacity and more limited temperature range than nylon wheels. The wheel can come with either a flat or crowned tread face and offers bearing options like plain bore, sealed ball bearings, or roller bearings for smooth rolling, ensuring excellent floor protection and non-conductive properties in applications like mobile carts or equipment in washdown areas.
The Stainless Steel Kingpinless Stem Caster (SS-G15) is a heavy-duty industrial caster designed for reliability in sanitary and high-precision environments, such as food processing and pharmaceutical labs. Constructed from 304 stainless steel with a welded, stamped steel design and ¼” thick legs welded to a precision machined swivel bearing, the SS-G15 ensures smoother swivel rotation, reduced vibration, and extended trouble-free performance for manually moved equipment. Its kingpinless design, combined with lubrication fittings for all movable parts, enhances durability and ease of maintenance, making it ideal for washdown settings requiring NSF and ROHS compliance. With load capacities ranging from 250 lbs to 1,500 lbs depending on wheel type, the caster is optimized for infrequent manual movement with the weight applied directly on the swivel bearing, not above it on the threaded stem, and should not be used as a leveling device.
The SS-G15 offers exceptional flexibility with a variety of wheel options and configurations to suit diverse applications. Available wheel diameters include 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” with a 2” tread width, and materials range from gray soft rubber (flat or crown), high-capacity rubber, and self-energizing ergonomic polyurethane (crown, orange) to polyolefin, nylon, phenolic, and ultra-high-capacity polymer. Most wheels feature stainless precision ball bearings for smooth operation, with specialized options like 90A orange polyurethane on aluminum or 65D blue polyurethane on aluminum (6” and 8” only). The crown tread design on polyurethane wheels reduces push-pull forces, minimizing the effort needed to start motion or change directions, thereby improving customer comfort and operational efficiency in institutional settings.
For secure positioning, the SS-G15 includes standard wheel brakes and swivel locks, with additional braking options such as the Top Lock Brake (TB) with a pedal on the side of the wheel and the Bolt-On Universal Face Contact Brake (UFCB). These features ensure stability for equipment like carts, tables, or workstations during cleaning, sterilization, or setup in hospitals or labs. The precision machined combination load and thrust bearing enhances smooth operation, making the SS-G15 a trusted choice for safety-focused environments. To select the appropriate configuration, customers should contact Caster City at sales@castercity.com or 800-501-3808 for recommendations, as real-world conditions may vary and capacity ratings alone are not sufficient for optimal performance.

Polyolefin Caster Wheels from Caster City
Polyolefin Caster Wheels are injection molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers, forming a one-piece solid sanitary design that prioritizes durability and hygiene. These wheels are available with a plain bore, precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings, or Delrin bearings for smooth operation across various light to medium-duty applications. As a cost-effective and lightweight option, polyolefin wheels are hard, non-marking, and non-conductive, offering superior resistance to water, chemicals, solvents, acids, grease, oils, and gasoline. Their unique composition ensures excellent abrasion resistance and impact absorption, making them a reliable choice for environments where sanitation and floor protection are essential.
Polyolefin Caster Wheels are particularly suited for wet and corrosive applications due to their outstanding resistance to most commonly encountered liquids, ensuring long-lasting performance. Their slightly crowned tread enhances rollability and maneuverability, and they do not develop flat spots when parked for extended periods. With a hardness of 65–70 Shore D, these wheels provide floor protection, low noise, and easy cleaning, while remaining impervious to sterilization processes. However, they can become brittle in cold, dry environments like refrigerated storerooms and should not be used in freezers or heat applications above 180°F during intermittent usage, such as rack washers.
Ideal for bakeries, food processing, dairies, meat packaging, laundries, supermarkets, warehouses, manufacturing plants, cleanrooms, medical facilities, and offices, these wheels excel where chemical resistance and non-marking performance are critical. Capable of handling impacts and loads up to 900 lbs per wheel depending on size, they offer economical mobility in harsh conditions. For reliable, sanitary, and floor-friendly caster solutions tailored to your needs, contact Caster City to explore custom configurations of our durable Polyolefin Caster Wheels.
