Description
DO NOT ORDER SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS IF YOU ORDER THE TL – TOTAL LOCK BRAKE. THE TL BRAKE WILL NOT WORK WITH EITHER THE SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS.
Model 9 Plate Swivel Casters are the most common industrial caster in use today because of the low initial cost and broad wheel selection. The swivel section features 2 rows of balls that rotate on heat treated raceways underneath the mounting plate. The center pin is a nut and bolt design, welded to handle normal abuse in manually operated applications. Kingpin bolt diameter measures 5/8″ and legs are 1/4″ thick, welded on both the inside and outside. A 1/2″ diameter axle accommodates wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The caster frame is stamped steel with a zinc plated finish for rust protection. Lubrication fittings are provided for all moveable parts. Model 9 comes with a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. Ideal for automotive plants, job shop carts, and maintenance equipment. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster can also be ordered in 304 Stainless Steel construction.
Caster City has designed the PCI industrial caster wheel to have a large crown tread to the surface of the tire, which assists in changing direction. This industrial caster wheel offers a flexible red polyurethane crown tread on iron, helping it to withstand impacts and heavy loads while changing directions efficiently. The 90A Durometer polyurethane is slightly softer and more flexible than standard polys, helping the tread climb over obstacles and offering a more cushioned ride. Polyurethane caster wheels will roll more easily on a smooth floor than rubber caster wheels. Polyurethane wheels are chosen when higher loads are needed to roll on floors due to offering more floor protection than what a hard composition caster wheel can. This wheel resists grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. This caster wheel is equipped with precision sealed ball bearings or roller bearings. If your application will expose this wheel to heavy impacts, overloading, chemicals, or continuous usage, the bonding agent can be affected. Ideal for fabrication shops, material handling carts, and heavy equipment movers.
