Gray Rubber – Total Lock Stem Model 3A

4″ Gray Soft Rubber Wheel. Precision Sealed Ball Bearings in the Wheel. Show in Photo with 5″ wheels. Using the metal brake pedal on Stem Caster 3A locks the wheel and the swivel bearing. A total lock brake locks the swivel and the wheel. It latches them simultaneously by one foot on the brake pedal. The plate caster swivel model 3A has a metal total lock pedal.  It is simple to turn on but not as simple to let go as the nylon brake pedal featured on K3. The metal lock can only be reached if the release deise with the type of your shoe which may not allow enough burden to be utilized to unlock the brake.  This is not an issue with the nylon brake pedal on model k3. The metal total lock brake pedal is an alternative on 3a swivels. The metal pedal is shown slightly under the mounting plate of the swivel caster and slightly over the wheel.  The metal pedal extends behind the wheel so the toe of your shoe can simply reach the activation pedal. The metal pedal burrows into polyurethane and rubber tires more than the nylon pedal. The amount of the metal pedal total lock brake is more than the cost of a total lock brake with a nylon pedal. Neither type of total lock brake are possible on a caster rigid. The Total Locking Stem Caster Model 3A is excellent for labs, hospitals, and medical offices.

Soft gray rubber wheels like the “RF” caster wheel are non-marking rubber tires that are injection molded to an industrial plastic center. The axle diameter of this caster wheel is ⅜” and the width of the wheel is 1-¼”.This soft gray rubber caster wheel comes with a durometer of 90-95A, making it excellent for indoor usage on smooth surfaces to reduice noise and vibration. This institutional gray soft rubber caster wheel is completed with plastic thread guards which act as spanner bushings for the sealed precision ball bearing in the center of the hub, providing ample protection for the bearing from direct moisture contact. These caster wheels should not be left standing under load for extended periods as the tires may take a permanent “set” or develop flat spots.
