These industrial pneumatic casters feature air filled pneumatic wheels. These industrial casters are designed for low speed manually moved applications only. Air filled pneumatic wheels provide a cushioned ride, shock absorption and quiet operation. Pneumatic casters are ideally suited for moving fragile or delicate cargo where caster overall height is not critical. Casters with pneumatic wheels are usually the best choice for use outdoors over rough surfaces ( i.e. gravel ) or on grass. Swivel and Rigid caster frames are made from stamped steel that is plated in zinc for corrosion resistance. The swivel bearing of Stem Caster Model 3 is defined by two rows of ball bearings rotating on hardened raceways. The center pin is a 1/2” rivet that holds the two ball bearing raceways together and the diameter of the axle is 3/8”. This stem caster is built with a dust cover to shield the swivel’s ball bearings. This stem caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1,000 lbs on a set of 4 model 3 casters.
Phenolic caster wheels are a hard composition, non-marking wheel that is excellent for large loads that do not move often. Phenolic can not develop a flat spot if left parked for a long period under load, and the wheel is capable of withstanding shock loads and the impacts of small obstructions. Phenolic can absorb water and other chemicals if excessive exposure occurs. Phenolic caster wheels come standard with a roller bearing and have precision sealed ball bearings as an option. Phenolic wheels begin with 3” in diameter and are available for diameters up to 18”. All phenolic wheels have a Durometer of Shore D 90 and the temperature range is -40° to +250° F. With a hardness comparable to polished maple flooring and a Durometer of Shore D 90, these wheels are designed to handle large loads comparable to metal wheels without developing flat spots, even when parked for prolonged periods under load. For enhanced performance, a laminated unmacerated tread option provides 25% more capacity and greater chip resistance, though the wheel material may chip or cut from contact with steel plates or rough surfaces.
