Description

4″ Polyolefin ( Black ) Wheel. Size shown in photo is 6 x 2. This stainless steel G15 rigid caster is formed from 304 stainless stamped steel. The legs of this caster and the mounting plate are made from ¼” thick 304 stainless steel. This caster is ROHS and NSF compliant. This stainless steel rigid caster uses a 1/2” diameter axle. Rigid casters can not swivel, which makes them ideal for travelling in straight lines over long distances. This Stainless steel plate caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1200 lbs per rigid caster.

The PB Polyolefin Wheel in the Stainless Steel Kingpinless Plate Caster Model SS-G15 is a great choice for institutional needs in settings like pharmaceutical labs, food processing plants, and wet environments where lightweight, non-marking mobility and corrosion resistance are essential. This 2-inch wide wheel, available in 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters, holds up to 300 lbs per wheel at room temperature, featuring a one-piece solid sanitary design injection-molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers. It’s resistant to most commonly encountered liquids, making it ideal for wet or mildly corrosive applications, and it won’t develop flat spots if parked for long periods, though it has a lower capacity and more limited temperature range than nylon wheels. The wheel can come with either a flat or crowned tread face and offers bearing options like plain bore, sealed ball bearings, or roller bearings for smooth rolling, ensuring excellent floor protection and non-conductive properties in applications like mobile carts or equipment in washdown areas.

The stainless steel kingpinless caster assembly, made from 304 stainless steel with ¼” thick legs welded to a precision machined swivel bearing, ensures easier swivel rotation, reduced vibration, and long trouble-free performance for both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment, with lubrication fittings for all movable parts and a larger swivel radius on 6” and 8” wheels to reduce shimmy vibration and ease directional changes. It features a top plate size of 4” x 4½” and bolt hole spacing of 2-5/8” x 3-5/8” to 3” x 3”, with brake options including the Top Lock Brake (TB), Universal Bolt-On Face Contact Brake (UFCB), Heavy Duty Weld-On Face Contact Brake (HDFCB), and both weld-on and bolt-on swivel locks for directional control. The stainless steel assembly is NSF and ROHS compliant, offering excellent corrosion resistance in wet environments, making this industrial plate caster a great fit for equipment needing reliable, lightweight mobility in sanitary or washdown settings.

Polyolefin Caster Wheels from Caster City

Polyolefin Caster Wheels are injection molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers, forming a one-piece solid sanitary design that prioritizes durability and hygiene. These wheels are available with a plain bore, precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings, or Delrin bearings for smooth operation across various light to medium-duty applications. As a cost-effective and lightweight option, polyolefin wheels are hard, non-marking, and non-conductive, offering superior resistance to water, chemicals, solvents, acids, grease, oils, and gasoline. Their unique composition ensures excellent abrasion resistance and impact absorption, making them a reliable choice for environments where sanitation and floor protection are essential.

Polyolefin Caster Wheels are particularly suited for wet and corrosive applications due to their outstanding resistance to most commonly encountered liquids, ensuring long-lasting performance. Their slightly crowned tread enhances rollability and maneuverability, and they do not develop flat spots when parked for extended periods. With a hardness of 65–70 Shore D, these wheels provide floor protection, low noise, and easy cleaning, while remaining impervious to sterilization processes. However, they can become brittle in cold, dry environments like refrigerated storerooms and should not be used in freezers or heat applications above 180°F during intermittent usage, such as rack washers.

Ideal for bakeries, food processing, dairies, meat packaging, laundries, supermarkets, warehouses, manufacturing plants, cleanrooms, medical facilities, and offices, these wheels excel where chemical resistance and non-marking performance are critical. Capable of handling impacts and loads up to 900 lbs per wheel depending on size, they offer economical mobility in harsh conditions. For reliable, sanitary, and floor-friendly caster solutions tailored to your needs, contact Caster City to explore custom configurations of our durable Polyolefin Caster Wheels.

What is the load capacity of the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15?

The Model G15 supports up to 1500 lbs per caster, but it depends on the wheel you pick. It’s rated for manual or powered use on smooth floors, no steep inclines over 3 degrees, and speeds under 3 mph.

What bearing options are available for the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15 with PB Polyolefin Wheel?

For the Model G15 stainless caster with PB Polyolefin Wheel, you can choose stainless steel roller bearings (SSR), stainless steel precision sealed ball bearings (SSPSBB), sealed precision bearings (SPS), precision sealed ball bearings (PS), roller bearings (R), ball bearings (B), bronze (BRNZ), Delrin bearings (D), or plain bore (P). These let you customize for wet environments.

Why choose the PB Polyolefin Wheel for the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15?

The 304 stainless steel frame resists rust and chemicals, making it great for wet spots with frequent cleaning. The polyolefin wheel handles water, mild acids (below 10%), grease, and oils, so it fits labs and food service well, but skip it for high-acid stuff.

What brake options does the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15 have?

The SS-G15 stainless swivel caster has braking options including wheel brakes (pedal on side of wheel, locks only the wheel from rolling—not available on V-Groove wheels or swivel with long lead), and swivel lock (converts swivel to rigid for straight lines or ramps, locks only swivel, not the wheel). Brakes aren’t designed to hold on inclines. It also offers SUFCB – Stainless Steel Bolt On Universal Face Contact Brake (face contact brake).

How do I maintain the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15?

Clean off debris after washdowns. Avoid leaving heavy loads sitting long, shocks, or harsh hits to keep it performing in wet spots.

Where can I buy the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15 with PB Polyolefin Wheel?

Get the Model G15 stainless caster from Caster City’s website at www.castercity.com or call 800-501-3808. Lead time is usually 2 days for fast delivery.

It has a kingpinless design with precision machined load and thrust bearings, and is made of 304 stainless steel with zinc-plated external parts for tougher abuse in manual or powered setups. Model 9 tops at 1200 lbs with a welded kingpin, so go G15 for abrasive or powered jobs where some wheels rate higher due to the rugged build. Call 800-501-3808 for help.

What’s the difference between swivel and rigid versions of the Stainless Steel Caster Model G15?

Swivel versions of this stainless swivel caster have full rotation for maneuvering, with a kingpinless design, precision bearings, and 1/4″ thick welded legs. Rigid casters don’t swivel, made from 304 stamped stainless steel for the plate and legs, with a 1/2″ axle bolt. Pick rigid when price matters or for straight-line travel over long distances or ramps—install them opposite the push handle for better steering. Both are great for corrosive washdowns like food processing.
