Phenolic Wheel

A phenolic wheel is a hard composite resin wheel known for high load capacity, low rolling resistance, and resistance to oil, grease, and moderate heat — at the cost of being noisier and harder on floors than rubber or polyurethane.

What a phenolic wheel is

Phenolic’s hardness makes it roll easily under heavy loads, but that same hardness means it transmits more impact to the floor and is louder than softer wheel materials.

When it matters

Heavy industrial loads on durable floors where rolling ease and chemical resistance matter more than noise or floor protection.

What to check / common mistakes

Using phenolic on finished or sensitive floors. Its hardness can mark or damage floors that would tolerate a softer wheel fine.

Frequently asked questions

Is phenolic good for heavy loads?
