The PM/UP Flat Tread Polyurethane on Polyolefin Center Wheel is a non-marking, very economic choice for an industrial wheel in heavy duty casters, featuring injection-molded polyurethane tires with a Shore 95A durometer, mechanically bonded to a polyolefin center—PM in maroon on gray, UP in blue on black—available in 2” wide for the Industrial Plate Caster Model 9, designed for smooth floors in research laboratories, hospitals, food service, schools, bakeries, and institutional applications, rolling easier than gray rubber wheels while withstanding exposure to many chemicals and solvents. Available in 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters (with the 8”x2” supporting up to 700 lbs), this industrial caster wheel includes precision sealed ball bearings protected by thread guards that act as spanner bushings to prevent corrosion and keep threads out of the axle, ensuring smooth operation within a temperature range of 32°F to 180°F, making it a reliable choice for dry factory floors.
This caster wheel in heavy duty industrial casters offers a variety of bearing choices—Roller Bearing (R), Delrin Bearings (D), Plain Bore (P), Ball Bearings (BB), Precision Sealed Ball Bearings (PS), Stainless Precision Sealed Ball Bearings (SPS), and Stainless Steel Needle Roller Bearing (SSR)—allowing customization for specific industrial needs, supporting loads up to 700 lbs for the 8”x2” size. The PM/UP Flat Tread Polyurethane on Polyolefin Center Wheel provides a balance of durability and cost-effectiveness, protecting floors in sensitive environments with its non-marking flat tread tires in maroon or blue, making it a top pick for material handling carts, medical equipment, and other manually operated setups requiring an easier-rolling, chemically resistant wheel with an attractive appearance for the Model 9’s zinc-plated steel frame.
The Model 9 swivel casters are our most popular industrial caster for many reasons but largely because of its low cost and assorted selection of wheels. Under the mounting plate it has 2 rows of balls pivoting on raceways treated for heat. The swivel has a bolt and nut center pin welded to withstand normal abuse in hand powered applications. The leg thickness is 1/4”, welded on the inside and out and the center bolt diameter is 5/8”. The metal frames are zinc plated for rust resistance, and it has lubrication fittings for all ambulatory parts. Model 9 has a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. We have other wheel bearing types and mounting plates available upon request.
*This Plate Caster Model 9 contains a Polyurethane on Polyolefin Swivel Wheel.
