Plate Caster Model 9 swivel casters are our most popular industrial caster because of its low initial cost and wide selection of wheels. Under the mounting plate it has 2 rows of balls rotating on heat treated raceways. The swivel has a nut and bolt center pin welded to withstand normal abuse in a manually moved application. The kingpin bolt diameter is 5/8” and the leg thickness is 1/4”, welded on the inside and out. The diameter of the axle is ½” and is designed to use wheels with a hub width of 2 7/16”. This caster is constructed from stamped steel. The metal frames are zinc plated for rust resistance, and it has lubrication fittings for all moveable parts. Model 9 has a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request.
This caster is available in Stainless Steel Model 9. It is constructed from 304 Stainless Steel. This is an excellent caster for wet or corrosive applications if your total weight exceeds 1000lbs. It comes with the same large selection of wheels, some of which are also NSF and ROHS compliant.
The (“PCI”) crown tread polyurethane on iron industrial caster wheel is an excellent ergonomic choice for maneuvering cargo in tight spaces. This crown-tread caster wheel helps to initiate motion and change directions more easily due to the point contact nature of the caster wheel. The principal benefit of a polyurethane wheel over the same size rubber wheel is increased capacity. The bonding agent which holds the polyurethane tire to the iron center can be affected by exposure to some chemicals, impact, overloading, and the buildup of heat. It comes in 4”, 5” , 6” , and 8” diameters and is equipped with two large precision sealed ball bearings which are completed with top hat spanners for a ½” diameter axle.
