Description
5″ Polyolefin ( Black ). Swivel Bearing Seal & Grease Fitting. Stainless Steel Stem Caster Model 3 is made using a stamped steel construction and is excellent for corrosive applications. This swivel stem caster is built with a ⅜” axle bolt and the swivel raceways are held together by a ½” rivet. Stainless Steel stem Caster Model 3 caster brackets have two rows of ball bearings rotating on raceways for smoother swiveling. There is a solid cover over the swivel raceways to shield them from dirt and dust. We do not recommend you put more than 1000 lbs of weight on four of these stem casters, please consult with us first.
The PB Black Polyolefin Wheel (Plain Bore) is a versatile option for the Stainless Steel Swivel Stem Caster Model SS-3, designed for light-duty institutional stainless steel caster needs in warehouses, retail spaces, and light industrial areas, supporting up to 300 lbs per wheel on smooth floors from -20°F to 180°F, with a 1.25-inch width and available in 3”, 4”, and 5” diameters, featuring a solid black polyolefin construction, equipped with a plain bore for a 3/8” axle and either stainless steel or delrin spanners for smooth rolling, offering non-marking performance, resistance to water, chemicals, oils, and solvents, and no flat-spotting during extended parking, though not suited for shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, or rough floors, making it a reliable choice for dry or mildly wet environments. The stainless steel caster assembly, crafted from 304 stainless steel with a stamped steel design, includes raceway seals for high-temp usage (up to 400°F), a zerk fitting, and a dust cover to protect the double ball bearing swivel raceways, ensuring smooth movement and allowing specialized grease use, with modular stem options including grip ring stems, threaded stems, round stems, square stems, stems with cross holes (both round and square), and expanding rubber stems for versatile mounting in institutional equipment like carts or tables, offering brake options like the Total Locking Brake (TL), Top Lock Brake (TB), and Plastic Top Lock Brake (PTB), with the stainless steel assembly being NSF and ROHS compliant, providing corrosion resistance in wet environments for reliable performance in sanitary or washdown settings; note that threaded stem casters should not be used as a leveling device, and capacity ratings are based on the weight being directly on the top of the swivel bearing, not above it on the threaded stem.

Polyolefin Caster Wheels from Caster City
Polyolefin Caster Wheels are injection molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers, forming a one-piece solid sanitary design that prioritizes durability and hygiene. These wheels are available with a plain bore, precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings, or Delrin bearings for smooth operation across various light to medium-duty applications. As a cost-effective and lightweight option, polyolefin wheels are hard, non-marking, and non-conductive, offering superior resistance to water, chemicals, solvents, acids, grease, oils, and gasoline. Their unique composition ensures excellent abrasion resistance and impact absorption, making them a reliable choice for environments where sanitation and floor protection are essential.
Polyolefin Caster Wheels are particularly suited for wet and corrosive applications due to their outstanding resistance to most commonly encountered liquids, ensuring long-lasting performance. Their slightly crowned tread enhances rollability and maneuverability, and they do not develop flat spots when parked for extended periods. With a hardness of 65–70 Shore D, these wheels provide floor protection, low noise, and easy cleaning, while remaining impervious to sterilization processes. However, they can become brittle in cold, dry environments like refrigerated storerooms and should not be used in freezers or heat applications above 180°F during intermittent usage, such as rack washers.
Ideal for bakeries, food processing, dairies, meat packaging, laundries, supermarkets, warehouses, manufacturing plants, cleanrooms, medical facilities, and offices, these wheels excel where chemical resistance and non-marking performance are critical. Capable of handling impacts and loads up to 900 lbs per wheel depending on size, they offer economical mobility in harsh conditions. For reliable, sanitary, and floor-friendly caster solutions tailored to your needs, contact Caster City to explore custom configurations of our durable Polyolefin Caster Wheels.
