Description
When your facility requires stainless steel casters that can handle moisture, chemicals, and heat, the Stainless Steel Model 3 swivel from Caster City is the answer. This 304 stainless stamped steel caster is buffed to a smooth reflective finish and equipped standard with a double ball bearing swivel on stainless raceways, high-temp seals rated -20°F to 450°F, a grease fitting, and a dust cover. The swivel is secured by a 1/2″ diameter rivet with a 3/8″ diameter axle. Mounting plate dimensions are 2-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ with bolt hole spacing of 1-3/4″ x 3″, slotted to 1-3/4″ x 2-7/8″, using 5/16″ bolts. Handles loads up to 350 lbs per caster. NSF listed and RoHS compliant—built for food production lines, bakeries, and washdown areas.
This gray rubber caster wheel is made from injection-molded soft gray rubber, making it a non-marking wheel. These caster wheels are popular on equipment in pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, food service and other institutional applications. These gray soft rubber wheels are non-marking, quiet, absorb shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protect costly floor surfaces, and minimize vibration. Soft rubber provides more desirable operating characteristics than any other wheel material. These caster wheels provide a softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. The durometer of this soft gray rubber caster wheel is 90-95A, making it ideal for vibration and noise reduction. The sealed ball bearing in this gray soft rubber caster wheel is bushed down with two plastic spanner bushings that also act as thread guards, guarding the bearing from direct and indirect moisture contact. The Soft Gray Rubber Caster Wheel has precision sealed ball bearings requiring no maintenance. If your application is moved infrequently and has a high capacity, injection molded caster wheels such as this are not the best choice. Ideal for institutional applications, hospitals, and food service.

The optional total lock brake on the Model SS-3 swivel plate caster locks the swivel and wheel, fully immobilizing the stainless steel assembly to prevent movement of objects—like carts, tables, or lab equipment—when someone leans on them during tasks such as working, cleaning, or setup, ensuring safety in hospital or lab environments. Total locking casters are important because in cutting, welding, sawing, or similar tasks, people will lean against the worktable while doing their dangerous cut, and the total lock caster prevents anything in the caster from moving, totally immobilizing wheel and swivel rotation.
