The Model 9 Rigid Plate Caster is the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When equipment is manually moved on 4 swivel casters it can be difficult to control where the equipment is going. Rigid casters assist in directing equipment that is being moved in a forward or backward line. Equipment with rigid casters can not travel sideways. Rigids are usually attached to the opposite end of the push handle. The 1/4″ thick legs and 1/2″ axle diameter accommodate wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. This caster is constructed from stamped steel. Rigid casters carry more weight than swivel casters because there is no offset, but on our website both rigid and swivel casters are displayed with the same capacity. Ideal for furniture manufacturing, glass handling equipment, and metal fabrication shops. Additional mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. A 304 Stainless Steel version is also offered for applications in wet or corrosive environments.
