Technical Specifications

Description
Rigid Caster Model 30 is an upgrade from the rigid casters shown on Model G15. These Rigid casters have larger wheels, large wheel bearings, a higher load capacity rating, and a bigger mounting plate than the rigid caster that is shown on G15. It features superior performance on both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment. The Model 30 frames are zinc plated for rust resistance. There are grease fittings for the wheel bearings. Rigid casters are usually attached to equipment at the opposite end of the push handle and where swivel casters are attached. This enables the person pushing the equipment to be able to control the direction of travel. It should also be stressed that Rigid casters have 2 legs perpendicular to the mount plate, therefore they can not move sideways. Equipment with 2 rigid casters and 2 swivel casters must be handled into position. For more information and/or help placing an order, please give us a call at 800-501-3808.
The DS – Ductile Steel Wheel for the Plate Caster Model 30 is a heavy duty industrial caster wheel designed to handle extreme load capacities in the toughest industrial settings like steel mills power plants or automotive plants with all sizes 6” x 3” 8” x 3” 10” x 3” and 12” x 3” supporting 6000 lbs per wheel with roller bearings and over 7000 lbs with tapered roller bearings though the bracket limits it to 7000 lbs per caster. Made from ductile steel a combination of special alloys often called malleable iron this flat tread wheel boasts a 45000 PSI tensile strength shrugging off wear and tear with higher weight capacities than cast iron and being more economical than drop-forged steel. It can handle temperatures from -45°F to 800°F making it great for harsh environments in industries like chemical plants or mining operations.
The DS – Ductile Steel Wheel’s flat tread design and incredible 45000 PSI tensile strength make it an absolute beast for abusive conditions thriving in applications like mining hauling ore carts powder coating big metal structures welding tables heavy parts heavy manufacturing oversized gear steel mills molten metal loads construction rough terrain and industrial ovens high-heat racks where it shrugs off the toughest challenges. Its durability ensures a long life with options for roller bearings or tapered roller bearings for smooth rolling in the roughest settings though it is designed for high load capacities and may cause marking or damage to factory floors so use steel plates or V-groove tracks for sensitive floors. Paired with the Model 30’s zinc-plated steel frame this heavy duty kingpinless caster is a top choice among industrial casters and wheels for heavy duty plate caster applications needing unmatched strength and performance in dry or wet conditions like oil rigs logistics hubs or observatories.

FAQ
Plate Caster Model 30 with DS – Ductile Steel Wheel FAQ
What is the Plate Caster Model 30 with DS – Ductile Steel Wheel used for?
It’s a heavy duty plate caster built for the toughest jobs like moving heavy carts in steel mills power plants or mining operations. With a 3” swivel bearing and DS – Ductile Steel Wheel this kingpinless caster handles both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment in the most demanding industrial settings.
How much weight can the Plate Caster Model 30 with DS – Ductile Steel Wheel hold?
The Model 30 caster bracket supports up to 7000 lbs per caster but the DS – Ductile Steel Wheel capacity depends on its bearing type: all sizes (6” x 3” 8” x 3” 10” x 3” 12” x 3”) hold 6000 lbs per wheel with roller bearings and over 7000 lbs with tapered roller bearings. Since the bracket maxes out at 7000 lbs that’s the overall limit per caster.
What wheel sizes are available for the Plate Caster Model 30 with DS – Ductile Steel Wheel?
The DS – Ductile Steel Wheel comes in diameters of 6” 8” 10” and 12” with a tread width of 3” and a flat tread design. Pick the size based on your load and floor type—bigger diameters like 12” make it easier to roll over uneven surfaces.
What materials are used in the Plate Caster Model 30 with DS – Ductile Steel Wheel?
The caster frame is made from ASTM1045 zinc-plated steel to resist rust with a 3” swivel bearing double-welded legs and a ¾” axle diameter. The DS – Ductile Steel Wheel is made from ductile steel a combination of special alloys with a 45000 PSI tensile strength often called malleable iron.
What makes the DS – Ductile Steel Wheel on the Plate Caster Model 30 special?
The DS – Ductile Steel Wheel is a heavy-duty beast with a 45000 PSI tensile strength shrugging off wear and tear.
