Description
Model 9 Rigid Caster is the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When manually moving equipment with 4 swivel casters it can be challenging to control the direction of travel. Rigid casters help in controlling equipment being moved in a straight line. Equipment with rigids can not move sideways. Rigid casters are usually placed at the opposite end of the push handle. The legs are 1/4″ thick with a 1/2″ diameter axle designed to use wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. Constructed from stamped steel, this rigid caster can carry more weight than the matching swivel because there is no offset, but both casters are shown with the same capacity on our website. Ideal for oil and gas operations, mining equipment, and power generation facilities. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also supplied in 304 Stainless Steel for corrosive service.
Polyurethane Caster Wheels from Caster City offer superior performance compared to rubber wheels, excelling in resistance to grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. These caster wheels come with green (PY) or red (PYR) polyurethane tread chemically bonded to an iron core. These wheels are designed for versatility and can be used on nearly any factory floor. Tire Hardness is Durometer: 95A. Temperature range is -20°F to 180°F. The primary benefit of a polyurethane wheel over the same size rubber wheel is increased capacity. Under ideal conditions, polyurethane caster wheels have a safe operating capacity of up to three times the capacity of the same size rubber wheel. On smooth floors, a polyurethane caster wheel rolls easier than the same size rubber caster wheel. However, when used at full capacity, polyurethane is not easy rolling. The bonding agent securing the polyurethane tread to the iron center may be affected by certain chemicals, high impact, overloading, or heat buildup. Available with precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings. Ideal for foundry equipment, forging operations, and aerospace manufacturing.
