Description

3″ Maroon/Gray Premium Polyurethane – Annular Ball Bearing

The Maroon/Gray Premium Polyurethane Wheels are non-marking, with injection-molded polyurethane tires mechanically bonded to a polyolefin core, making them ideal for Research Laboratories, Hospitals, Food Service, Schools, Bakeries, and other institutional settings. They offer smoother rolling than gray rubber on smooth floors and are resistant to many chemicals and solvents. These wheels are suitable for industrial applications but should not be subjected to shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, poor floor conditions, or prolonged stationary loads to prevent issues like flat spots (noted when loads exceed 60% of the 350 lbs capacity, or 210 lbs, for extended periods). The Shore D60 durometer ensures durability for these environments.

Size shown in photo is 5″.

FAQ

Maroon/Gray Premium Polyurethane Wheel FAQ

What axle sizes can I get for the Maroon/Gray Premium Polyurethane Wheel?
The standard axle size is 3/8″. You can also opt for a 5/16″ axle with a metal spanner bushing to reduce the wheel’s inner diameter to fit a 5/16″ axle.

What’s the weight capacity of this caster wheel?
It’s rated for 350 lbs under ideal conditions. Don’t leave it parked with more than 60% of that (210 lbs) for a long time, or the tire might develop a flat spot.

What diameters are available for this wheel?
You can choose from 3″, 3.5″, 4″, and 5″ diameters, depending on your application.

What bearing types are available for this wheel?
The wheel comes with dual-row annular ball bearings, available in standard ball bearing, stainless ball bearing, or Delrin options, for smooth rolling and increased capacity.

Where are these caster wheels best used?
They’re ideal for Research Laboratories, Hospitals, Food Service, Schools, Bakeries, and similar institutional settings. They roll smoother than gray rubber on smooth floors and resist many chemicals and solvents.

Can these wheels be used in heavy industrial settings?
They’re fine for light industrial use but not built for shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, or rough floors. Stick to smooth surfaces for best performance.

Will these wheels mark my floors?
No, the injection-molded polyurethane tire is non-marking, so it’s safe for clean environments like hospitals or schools.

What’s with the flat spot warning?
If the wheel is left stationary with a load over 210 lbs (60% of its 350 lbs capacity) for too long, the polyurethane tire might get a flat spot. Keep loads lighter or move it occasionally to avoid this.

What’s the tire made of, and how durable is it?
The tire is premium polyurethane mechanically bonded to a polyolefin core, with a Shore D65 durometer. It’s hard and durable for smooth floors and institutional use, but avoid overloading or rough surfaces.

Are these wheels good for environments with chemicals?
Yep, they withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents, making them a solid choice for labs or hospitals where spills might happen.
