Description
Rigid Model 50 Casters and the matching swivel casters have the identical wheels displayed on Model 30. The weight size ratings in Plate Caster Model 50 are usually higher for the identical wheels shown in Caster Model 30. The thicker and bigger mounting plate on Caster Rigid Model 50, and thicker legs are the reasons for the greater load capacity ratings shown on rigid model 50. Ideal for boiler and pressure vessel transport, wind turbine component handling, refinery maintenance equipment, and hydroelectric plant operations. Rigids are mostly used to control the direction when equipment is moving in a forward or backward line. The one exemption are rigid casters which have v-groove wheels. V-groove wheels pivot on an inverted angle iron track which directs the line of travel. When swivel and rigid casters are on the same piece of machinery, swivel casters should be connected below the push handle, and rigids should be attached to the opposite end of where the push handle is placed. Popular options include a face contact brake to latch the wheels. Rigid casters are not able to move sideways. They require to be moved into place. Our suggestion is you use 4 swivel casters when maximum mobility is required in a limited work environment.
Polyurethane Caster Wheels from Caster City offer superior performance compared to rubber wheels, excelling in resistance to grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. These caster wheels come with green (PY) or red (PYR) polyurethane tread chemically bonded to an iron core. These wheels are designed for versatility and can be used on nearly any factory floor. The durometer of this polyurethane caster wheel is 90-95 Shore A and the temperature range is -20°F to 180°F. The primary advantage of polyurethane wheels over rubber is their significantly higher load capacity. Polyurethane caster wheels have a safe operating capacity of up to three times the capacity of the same size rubber wheel. Polyurethane wheels roll more easily than rubber at the same load on smooth floors. When used at full capacity, polyurethane caster wheels are not easy rolling. Capacity ratings serve as a guideline for safe operation, but actual performance depends on usage, service conditions, and environmental factors. Available with plain bore, precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings, or. Ideal for die and mold transport, heavy fabrication shops, industrial distribution centers, and press and stamping equipment.
