4″ Gray Rubber Wheel – Stem Model 3A

4″ Gray Soft Rubber Wheel.Precision Sealed Ball Bearings in the Wheel. Shown in Photo with 5″ wheel. Using the metal brake pedal on Stem Caster 3A locks the wheel and the swivel bearing. A total lock brake locks the swivel and the wheel. It latches them simultaneously by one foot on the brake pedal. The swivel plate caster model 3A has a metal total lock pedal.  It is simple to turn on but not as simple to let go as the nylon brake pedal featured on K3. The metal lock can only be reached if the release deise with the type of your shoe which may not allow enough burden to be utilized to unlock the brake.  This is not an issue with the nylon brake pedal on model k3. The metal total lock brake pedal is an alternative on 3a swivels. The metal pedal is shown slightly under the mounting plate of the swivel caster and slightly over the wheel.  The metal pedal extends behind the wheel so the toe of your foot can simply reach the activation pedal. The metal pedal burrows into polyurethane and rubber tires more than the nylon pedal. The amount of the metal pedal total lock brake is more than the cost of a total lock brake with a nylon pedal. Neither type of total lock brake are possible on a caster rigid.

This caster wheel is made of a non-marking gray rubber tire that is mechanically bonded to it’s polyolefin center. The axle diameter of this caster wheel is ⅜” and the width of the wheel is 1-¼”.This caster wheel has a durometer of 90-95 A which assists in vibration and noise dampening. This gray soft rubber caster wheel is assembled with a sealed precision ball bearing that is further guarded by two plastic spanner bushings which also act as thread guards, rotating against the axle and further protecting the bearing from direct water or chemical exposure. If your application is moved infrequently and has a high capacity, injection molded caster wheels such as this are not the best choice.
