Description

The Plate Caster Model G15 with PY Polyurethane on Iron Wheel is built for industrial applications needing reliable performance under heavy loads. It uses a kingpinless design with a precision-machined swivel bearing for rotation with less vibration, suitable for both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment. Made from zinc-plated steel for rust resistance, it has lubrication fittings for all moveable parts, a 1/2” diameter axle with a locking nut, and hot-forged construction with welded legs, supporting up to 1500 lbs per caster, with a mounting plate of 4″ x 4-1/2″ (bolt hole pattern 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ to 3″ x 3″), for use in environments like warehouses and manufacturing plants.

This caster has a 2” or 3” wide PY Polyurethane Wheel with a liquid cast polyurethane tire chemically bonded to an iron center, with a Shore A 90-95 durometer and temperature range of -20°F to 180°F. It comes with a standard roller bearing or optional sealed precision ball bearings, fits a 1/2” axle bolt, and offers higher capacity than a same-sized rubber wheel, rolling easier under load while protecting floors better than metal wheels. The bonding agent can be affected by chemicals, impact, overloading, or heat buildup, so it’s not suited for harsh impacts, continuous use, or prolonged standing loads.

The Model G15 is used in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers for heavy-duty mobility and floor protection, offering a broad selection of 2” wide wheels like Nylon, Polyolefin, and TPR Rubber, often with higher load ratings than the Model 9. An optional larger swivel radius (Long Lead) for 6” and 8” wheel diameters reduces shimmy vibration and eases direction changes. Available online at Caster City with a fast lead time, this caster is used for industrial applications; contact Caster City at 800-501-3808 for ordering assistance.

FAQ

G15 Kingpinless Industrial Caster with Polyurethane on Iron Wheel

What is the G15 Kingpinless Industrial Caster designed for?

The G15 caster is engineered for heavy-duty industrial applications, performing exceptionally well in both manually operated and mechanically powered equipment. Its kingpinless design with a precision machined swivel bearing delivers smooth rotation, reduced vibration, and reliable long-term performance.

What are the key benefits of the G15 caster?

  • Enhanced swivel rotation for improved maneuverability and Lower vibration for smoother operation
  • Extended durability with trouble-free performance
  • Increased load capacity compared to similar models (e.g., Model 9) for many wheel types

What materials are used in the G15 caster?

The caster’s metal frames are zinc-plated, providing rust resistance suitable for diverse industrial settings.

What bearing options are available for the G15 caster?

It features a precision machined swivel bearing for superior performance. Wheel bearing options vary depending on the selected wheel type.

What sizes are available for the G15 caster?

The G15 offers multiple wheel diameters, including a popular larger swivel radius option for 6” and 8” wheels, which minimizes vibration and simplifies directional shifts.

What is the load capacity of the G15 caster?
Load capacity depends on wheel type and size, often exceeding that of the Model 9 for many wheels. Contact Caster City for detailed specifications.

Can the G15 caster be used in wet or corrosive environments?
Its zinc-plated frame resists rust, but for extreme wet or corrosive conditions, a stainless steel version may be recommended. Reach out to Caster City for tailored advice.

What maintenance does the G15 caster require?
Lubrication fittings are included for all moving parts, enabling easy maintenance. Regular greasing ensures optimal performance and longevity.

Are there any add-ons or options available for the G15 caster?
Yes, it offers a wide range of wheel brakes and swivel locks. A larger swivel radius option is available for 6” and 8” wheel diameters to enhance functionality.

How does the G15 caster compare to the Model 9?
The G15’s kingpinless design and precision machined swivel bearing provide better rotation, higher load capacity for many wheels, and less vibration than the Model 9.

What applications is the G15 caster best suited for?
It’s perfect for heavy-duty industrial environments like manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers where durability and smooth operation are essential.
