Description
Model 3 Rigid Caster is the matching rigid for Plate Caster Model 3. The mounting plate is 2-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ with a 1-3/4″ x 3″, slotted to 1-3/4″ x 2-7/8″ and accepts 5/16″ mounting bolts. This rigid caster uses a 3/8″ diameter bolt axle with a locking nut and accepts 1-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ wide wheels. This rigid caster is welded leg construction. Multiple wheel and brake options are available. When moving equipment by hand with 4 swivel casters it can be tough to control the direction of push or pull. Rigid casters are used to control the direction of equipment being moved in straight line travel. Equipment with rigid casters installed can not move sideways. Ideal for veterinary clinic equipment, pharmacy carts, and dental office instruments. This plate caster is NSF listed. A Stainless Steel Model 3 version is also available for wet or corrosive applications.
This caster wheel is made of a non-marking gray rubber tire that is mechanically bonded to its polyolefin center. These caster wheels are popular on equipment in pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, food service and other institutional applications. These gray soft rubber wheels are non-marking, quiet, absorb shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protect costly floor surfaces, and minimize vibration. Soft rubber provides more desirable operating characteristics than any other wheel material. These caster wheels provide a softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. This soft gray rubber caster wheel comes with a durometer of 90-95A, making it excellent for indoor usage on smooth surfaces to reduce noise and vibration. This gray soft rubber caster wheel is assembled with a sealed precision ball bearing that is further guarded by two plastic spanner bushings which also act as thread guards, rotating against the axle and further protecting the bearing from direct water or chemical exposure. They can be used on almost any dry factory flo. The bonding agent which holds the rubber tire to its polyolefin center can be affected by exposure to some chemicals, impact, overloading, and the buildup of heat. Ideal for institutional applications and light duty industrial environments.

What is the durometer of the RF Soft Gray Rubber Wheel, and why does it matter?
The RF wheel has a 75A durometer, providing softness for shock absorption and floor protection, which is key in institutional settings where noise and vibration control are priorities.
How do I choose the right diameter for the RF wheel in the Model 3 caster?
Smaller diameters (3″) are better for low-clearance equipment, while larger ones (5″) handle uneven floors more easily. Select based on your equipment’s height and floor conditions.
What maintenance does the RF wheel in the Model 3 caster require?
The RF wheel’s precision sealed ball bearings require no maintenance, ensuring smooth, long-term performance with minimal upkeep.
