Phenolic caster wheels are a hard composition, non-marking wheel that is excellent for large loads that do not move often. Phenolic can not develop a flat spot if left parked for a long period under load, and the wheel is capable of withstanding shock loads and the impacts of small obstructions. Phenolic is capable of absorbing chemicals and water if it is given excessive exposure, if your application is wet consider a different wheel. Phenolic caster wheels come standard with a roller bearing and have precision sealed ball bearings as an option. This wheel comes in diameters ranging from 3” to 18” and the width of the wheels ranges from 1-¼” to 4”. Our Phenolic Caster Wheels, made from macerated canvas mixed with phenolic resin and molded under high pressure and temperature are a cost-effective, hard-composition, non-marking solution ideal for supporting heavy stationary loads that move infrequently. With a hardness comparable to polished maple flooring and a Durometer of Shore D 90, these wheels are designed to handle large loads comparable to metal wheels without developing flat spots, even when parked for prolonged periods under load. While Phenolic Caster Wheels are tough and versatile, they are not suitable for wet applications or environments with excessive exposure to water, oil, or chemicals, as they can slowly absorb these substances and fail over time.
