The APH – Solid All Polyurethane Heavy Duty Wheel for the Zinc Plated Light Industrial Caster Model 3, also known as Industrial Caster Model 3, is a light-duty industrial caster wheel engineered for sanitary, washdown applications in settings like pharmaceutical labs, hospitals, food processing plants, and institutional facilities where hygiene and durability are critical. Available with part numbers 3APH3x1.25-S for swivel and 3APH3x1.25-R for rigid, this blue solid polyurethane wheel locked to a polyolefin core comes in diameters of 3”, 4”, and 5” with a 1-¼” tread width, supporting up to 350 lbs per caster, matching the Model 3’s robust bracket capacity. It operates from -50°F to 180°F with a 65D Shore durometer and features standard zinc precision sealed ball bearings, ensuring smooth, quiet rolling ideal for wet, corrosive environments, and is NSF listed for food safety compliance.
Crafted to complement the Zinc Plated Light Industrial Caster Model 3’s stamped steel construction with bright zinc plating for corrosion resistance, the APH wheel benefits from a ⅜” diameter axle, a ½” diameter rivet, and two ball bearings on hardened raceways, enhancing longevity in institutional settings. The metal dust cap shields the swivel raceways from dirt and dust, while optional brake choices—PTB, TB, and TL—provide versatility for secure operation, making it suitable for straight-line travel with rigid casters or controlled movement with swivel casters. This caster excels in manually moving equipment, reducing operator fatigue, and is ideal for environments requiring NSF compliance, such as food processing plants or medical facilities.
The Zinc Plated Light Industrial Caster Model 3 stands out with its cost-effective design compared to stainless steel models, offering a durable alternative for applications where high-temperature seals aren’t needed, yet still meets rigorous hygiene standards. Its optional lube axle and larger mounting plates (S3 or S17) provide flexibility for custom setups, catering to diverse industrial needs like sterile medical rooms or heavy-duty manufacturing floors. This combination of zinc plating, dust protection, and brake options makes it a top choice among industrial casters and wheels for zinc plated caster applications, delivering reliable, clean operation in washdown environments like pharmaceutical labs, institutional settings, or material handling, where affordability and performance are key.
These wheels are designed for use in a wet environment and they eliminate the possibility of tire separation.
Caster City manufactures this plate caster in Stainless Steel. Caster City also manufactures this plate caster in Economy Stainless Steel. Both casters are NSF listed and RoHS Compliant.
