Description

Model 50 Heavy-Duty Kingpinless Industrial Caster with PX Premium Polyurethane on Iron Wheel

The Model 50 Heavy-Duty Kingpinless Industrial Caster features a single 3-inch wide PX Premium Polyurethane on Iron Wheel in 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, or 12-inch diameters, with a 1-inch thick, 95A durometer polyurethane tire bonded to a cast-iron core. This caster supports up to 6,500 lbs per caster with the PX wheel, ideal for manually moved or mechanically powered equipment. The PX wheel, our highest capacity polyurethane wheel, resists internal heat buildup, extending life for strenuous service in automotive tow-lines, aerospace component transport, heavy manufacturing, warehouses, and mobile helipads. The kingpinless swivel, with a precision machined bearing, eliminates the center pin for easier swiveling, reduced vibration, and longer trouble-free performance for heavy duty kingpinless industrial casters.

Mounting Plate is 5-1/4″ x 7-1/4″ and provides a larger, secure base for heavy duty caster applications, while 3/8-inch thick legs and zinc-plated frames resist rust and handle strenuous service. The PX wheel’s non-marking polyurethane tire protects factory, hangar, and warehouse floors, moving over debris with low rolling resistance for easier transport. Its softer, more resilient tread reduces noise, protects sensitive cargo, and resists oils and grease, ideal for high-traffic areas like distribution centers or mobile helipads. With precision sealed ball bearings or tapered roller bearings, this kingpinless industrial caster operates from -20°F to 180°F, though not suited for rough terrain or sudden shocks.

Order the Model 50 heavy-duty kingpinless industrial caster with PX wheel at Caster City or email sales@castercity.com. Add a face contact wheel brake to lock the wheel or a hand-operated swivel lock for direct line travel. With lubrication fittings for all moveable parts, Caster City’s heavy duty kingpinless casters deliver the strength, floor protection, and reliability needed for automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing applications.

Model 50 Rigid Casters and the matching swivel casters have the same wheels displayed on Plate Model 30. The weight capacity ratings in Model 50 are usually greater for the exact wheels shown in Model 30. The heavier and bigger mounting plate on Model 50, larger swivel bearing, thicker mounting plate, and heavier legs are the reasons for the greater load capacity ratings shown on model 50 casters. Rigids are mostly used to control the direction when moving equipment in a direct line. The one exception are rigid plate casters which have v-groove wheels. V-groove wheels rotate on an inverted angle iron track which controls the line of travel. When swivel and rigid casters are on the same piece of machinery, swivel casters should be connected below the push handle, and rigid casters should be attached to the opposite end of where the push handle is located. Rigid casters can not move sideways. They require equipment to be maneuvered into place. Our recommendation is you use 4 swivel casters when maximum mobility is required in a confined work environment.
