Description

Plate Swivel Model 9s are our most favored industrial caster because of its cost efficient price and wide selection of wheels.  Under the mounting plate it has 2 rows of balls rotating on heat treated raceways.  The swivel has a bolt and nut center pin welded to withstand normal abuse in a manually moved application. Spec: center bolt diameter – 5/8”, leg thickness – 1/4”; welded on the inside and out, axle diameter – 1/2” long, hub width – 2 7/16”. This caster is constructed from stamped steel.  The metal frames are zinc plated for rust resistance, and it has lubrication fittings for all moveable parts.  Model 9 has a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications.  Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request.

The UAO/UAC Crown Tread Polyurethane on Aluminum Hub Wheel is a non-marking industrial wheel for heavy duty casters, featuring a hard crown tread high quality polyurethane tire with a 90 Shore A durometer, chemically and mechanically bonded to a durable aluminum hub, available in orange or green, designed to efficiently change directions while supporting heavy loads up to 1,000 lbs, offering higher capacity and more floor protection than hard composition wheels or metal wheels, and rolling easier than conventional rubber caster wheels on smooth floors. Available in 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters, this industrial caster wheel uses a large crown tread and a counter bored hub with precision sealed ball bearings to minimize surface friction, requiring less effort to start up, turn, and maintain a rolling load, operating within a temperature range of -40°F to 180°F, ideal for dry factory floors where its lighter weight and higher aesthetic value compared to polyurethane on iron wheels enhance its appeal.

This aluminum caster wheel in heavy duty industrial casters provides a balance of durability and performance, protecting floors better than metal wheels while withstanding impacts and heavy loads, though it’s not suited for shock, overloading, abuse, or prolonged standing loads, as the bonding agent holding the polyurethane tire to the aluminum center can be affected by exposure to some chemicals, impact, overloading, or heat buildup from continuous usage.
