The Swivel casters in the Model 9 are a low cost option and come with a wide variety of wheels. The turn swivel has a center pin welded with the bolt and the nut that can withstand a normal wear and tear when moved by hand or other such means. There are two rows of balls to handle heat-treated raceways. With a diameter of 5/8″, leg thickness of 1/4″, and axle diameter of 1/2″, a hub diameter of 2 7/16″, and a 5/8″ center bolt, the Model 9 is perfect for most application use. Every moving part is also lubricated with a grease fitting and plated in zinc to help prevent rust. Model 9 has a wide range of caster locks, plate mount types, and wheel brakes as well.

In storage load applications, the Phenolic Casters Model 9 delivers a phenomenal performance. Their well built structure ensures that they will not develop flat spots. They carry weights as good as an iron wheel caster might. Model 9 Phenolic Casters can handle small obstructions and shock loads but you should polyolefin wheels instead of plastic wheels if excessive exposure to water or chemicals occurs. Each plastic wheel in Model 9 includes a roller bearing. Operating temperatures range from -40°C to +250°C. Moreover, its intermittent use may reach 300°F.

Model 9 Heavy-Duty Industrial Caster with Phenolic Wheel

The Model 9 Heavy-Duty Industrial Caster uses a single 2-inch wide Phenolic Wheel in 3.25-inch, 4-inch, 5-inch, 6-inch, or 8-inch diameters, supporting up to 1,200 lbs for 6-inch and 8-inch sizes in manually moved applications. Constructed from stamped steel with zinc-plated metal frames for rust resistance, this caster features a 5/8-inch nut and bolt center pin and two rows of balls rotating on heat-treated raceways for easier swiveling. The Phenolic Wheel, a hard composition, non-marking wheel, supports large loads without developing flat spots, withstands shock loads and small obstructions, and is excellent for heavy stationary loads in heavy manufacturing and warehouses. With a 1/2-inch axle for a 2 7/16-inch hub width wheel, 1/4-inch thick legs, and lubrication fittings for all moveable parts, this industrial caster is designed for dry environments, not suited for excessive water, oil, or chemical exposure.

The Model 9 offers swivel casters for maneuverability and rigid casters for straight-line travel, with rigids carrying more weight due to no offset. Available with roller bearings or precision sealed ball bearings, it operates from -40°F to 250°F with a Shore D 90 durometer.
