Description
Plate Caster Model 9 Rigid Caster is the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When equipment is manually moved on 4 swivel casters it can be tough to maintain directional control. Rigid casters control the direction when equipment is being moved in direct line travel. Equipment with rigid casters can not move sideways. Rigid casters are usually equipped at the opposite end of the push handle. Leg thickness is 1/4″ with a 1/2″ diameter axle designed for wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The caster is made from stamped steel. Rigids can carry more weight than swivel casters because they have no offset, but both rigid and swivel casters are shown with the same capacity on our website. Ideal for water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, and environmental remediation equipment. Other mounting plate sizes and bearing types are available on request. This caster is also available in 304 Stainless Steel for wet or chemically aggressive applications.
This caster wheel is made of a non-marking gray rubber tire that is mechanically bonded to its polyolefin center. These caster wheels are popular on equipment in pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, food service and other institutional applications. These gray soft rubber wheels are non-marking, quiet, absorb shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protect costly floor surfaces, and minimize vibration. Soft rubber provides more desirable operating characteristics than any other wheel material. These caster wheels provide a softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. This soft gray rubber caster wheel comes with a durometer of 90-95A, making it excellent for indoor usage on smooth surfaces to reduce noise and vibration. The sealed ball bearing in this gray soft rubber caster wheel is bushed down with two plastic spanner bushings that also act as thread guards, guarding the bearing from direct and indirect moisture contact. They can be used on almost any dry factory floor. These caster wheels should not be left standing under load for extended periods as the tires may take a permanent “set” or develop flat spots. Ideal for hospitals, pharmaceutical laboratories, and food service applications.
