These industrial pneumatic casters feature air filled pneumatic wheels. These industrial casters are designed for low speed manually moved applications only. Air filled pneumatic wheels provide a cushioned ride, shock absorption and quiet operation. Pneumatic casters are ideally suited for moving fragile or delicate cargo where caster overall height is not critical. Casters with pneumatic wheels are usually the best choice for use outdoors over rough surfaces ( i.e. gravel ) or on grass. The wide footprint on 8″ or larger pneumatic wheels provides stability on gravel and does not sink into lawns.

4″ Polyolefin Wheel. Brake Locks both the Swivel and Wheel Shown in photo with 5″ wheels. This 3A stem swivel caster is our stainless steel total locking light duty industrial caster which uses the same 1-¼” wide wheels as our standard Model 3. A total lock brake locks both the wheel and the swivel on a swivel caster. It latches them simultaneously by one foot on the brake pedal. The plate caster swivel model 3A has a metal total lock pedal. It is simple to turn on but not as simple to let go as the nylon brake pedal featured on K3. The metal lock can only be reached if the release deise with the type of your shoe which may not allow enough burden to be utilized to unlock the brake. This is not an issue with the nylon brake pedal on model k3. The metal total lock brake pedal is an alternative on 3a swivels. The metal pedal is shown slightly under the mounting plate of the swivel caster and slightly over the wheel. The metal pedal extends behind the wheel so the toe of your foot can simply reach the activation pedal. The metal pedal burrows into polyurethane and rubber tires more than the nylon pedal. The amount of the metal pedal total lock brake is more than the cost of a total lock brake with a nylon pedal. Neither type of total lock brake are possible on a caster rigid.

As a cost-effective and lightweight option, polyolefin wheels are hard, non-marking, and non-conductive, offering superior resistance to water, chemicals, solvents, acids, grease, oils, and gasoline. Polyolefin Caster Wheels are particularly suited for wet and corrosive applications due to their outstanding resistance to most commonly encountered liquids, ensuring long-lasting performance. Their slightly crowned tread enhances rollability and maneuverability, and they do not develop flat spots when parked for extended periods. With a hardness of 65–70 Shore D, these wheels provide floor protection, low noise, and easy cleaning, while remaining impervious to sterilization processes. However, they can become brittle in cold, dry environments like refrigerated storerooms and should not be used in freezers or heat applications above 180°F during intermittent usage, such as rack washers.
