Description
3″ High Temp Phenolic – Fiberglass Wheel.Plain Bore – No Bearing in the Wheel. Shown with 4″ Wheel. This Model K3 plate caster is made from stamped steel that is zinc plated for corrosion resistance. This plate caster uses a ⅜” diameter axle and the swivel caster raceway is held together by a ½” diameter rivet. The swivel bearing of Plate Caster Model K3 is defined by two rows of ball bearings to help with thrust loads and changing direction. There is a solid cover over the swivel raceways to shield them from dirt and dust. This caster’s larger plate size makes it easier to fabricate with, which is it’s primary selling point. This plate caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1200 lbs on a set of 4 Model K3 casters.

FAQ
Plate Caster Model K3 with TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel
What material are “TP” high temperature wheels made from in the Plate Caster Model K3 for industrial casters?
The TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the Model K3 industrial caster is made from fiberglass, phenol resin, and additives to resist heat, creating a hard, non-marking high temperature wheel for smooth rolling in high temp dry heat settings.
What applications are best for the light duty caster with “TP” high heat casters in dry heat environments?
The light duty caster with TP high heat casters and wheels is perfect for dry high heat applications, like powder coating, dry heat bakery ovens, and dry heat autoclaves, where industrial casters move loads on smooth floors in hot zones.
What’s the temperature limit for the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the institutional caster for high temperature use?
The TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the institutional caster handles continuous operation up to 475°F and can hit 525°F for 30 minutes max—cool it to room temperature after high heat use to keep its service life strong.
What sizes do the TP high temperature wheels come in for the Plate Caster Model K3 industrial casters?
The TP high temperature wheels in the Model K3 industrial casters come in 3”, 4”, and 5” diameters, offering options for heavy duty casters in dry high heat applications on smooth floors.
Can the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the light duty caster roll on rough floors as a high temp wheel?
No, the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the light duty caster is built for smooth floor surfaces only—rough floors or obstructions will damage these industrial casters and shorten their life.
Are the industrial casters with TP wheels good for moist heat environments?
Nope, the industrial casters with TP wheels are made for dry high heat only and will fail in moist heat like steam autoclaves—for moist heat, pick our “NP” Glass-Filled Nylon high temperature wheels.
How do I protect the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the Plate Caster Model K3 in high temp dry heat settings?
Keep the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the Model K3 high temperature caster shielded from direct heat sources, like flames or radiant heat, to prevent damage and maintain performance in high temp dry heat settings.
Do the TP high temperature wheels in the institutional caster leave marks on floors in high heat environments?
No, the fiberglass, phenol resin, and additive build of the TP high temperature wheels in the institutional caster is non-marking, ideal for protecting smooth floors in dry heat autoclaves or powder coating lines.
Why are the heavy duty casters with TP High Temp Phenolic Wheels cost-effective for high temp use?
The heavy duty casters with TP High Temp Phenolic Wheels deliver durable, high temperature performance at a lower cost than other high temperature casters, making them a smart choice for dry high heat applications without a big price tag.
Can the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the industrial caster go above 525°F in high temp dry heat settings?
No, running the TP High Temp Phenolic Wheel in the industrial caster above 475°F for more than 30 minutes or past 525°F will cut its service life—always let it cool down after high heat exposure.
