The Rigid Plate Caster Model 9 is the matching caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When equipment is manually moved on 4 swivel casters it can be hard to maintain directional control. Rigid casters are primarily used to control the direction when moving equipment in a direct line. Equipment with rigid casters can not move sideways. Rigid casters are usually placed at the opposite end from the push handle. Leg thickness is 1/4″ and the 1/2″ diameter axle is designed for wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. This caster is made from stamped steel. Rigid casters are able to support more weight than swivels because of no offset, but on our website both rigid and swivel casters are shown with the same capacity. Ideal for aerospace ground support, military maintenance facilities, and government warehousing. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also available in a 304 Stainless Steel version for wet or chemically aggressive environments.

Semi-Pneumatic wheels feature an extra thick solid soft rubber tire on an industrial plastic wheel center. No air means no flat tire risk. Help reduce vibration and shock caused by floor surfaces which are not smooth. Should not be used on sand or gravel but can be used on grass and other surfaces. Although less resilient than full pneumatics, capacity is greater. The footprint is slightly less than a full pneumatic. Black soft rubber tires contain carbon black and can mark floors if wheel is dragged instead of allowed to roll. Ideal for outdoor use on grass and indoor applications on uneven floors.
