Model 9 Rigid Plate Casters are the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel Caster. When manually moving equipment supported by 4 swivel casters the direction can be difficult to manage. Rigid casters control direction when equipment is being moved in straight line travel. Equipment with rigid casters installed can not move sideways. Rigids are usually installed at the opposite end of the push handle. The 1/4″ leg thickness and 1/2″ axle diameter are designed to use wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. The caster is stamped steel construction. Rigid casters are capable of carrying more weight than swivel casters because there is no offset, nevertheless both rigid and matching swivel casters are shown with the same capacity on our website. Ideal for retail stockrooms, janitorial equipment, and shipping and receiving operations. Other plate sizes and bearing types are available on request. A 304 Stainless Steel construction is also offered for wet and corrosive applications.

Semi-Pneumatic wheels have an extra thick solid soft rubber tire on an industrial plastic wheel center. The absence of air in the tire eliminates the risk of a flat tire. Although less resilient than full pneumatics, semi-pneumatic wheels help reduce vibration and shock from non-smooth floor surfaces. Capacity is greater than full pneumatic wheels. Should not be used on sand or gravel but can be used on grass and other surfaces. All black soft rubber tires contain carbon black and can make marks if dragged. Ideal for applications requiring higher capacity without pneumatic maintenance.
