Rigid Caster Model 30 is a step up from the rigid casters shown on G15. These Rigid casters have larger wheels, big wheel bearings, a higher weight load capacity rating, and a larger mounting plate than the caster that is shown on G15. It utilizes superior performance on both hand powered and automated equipment. The 30 Model frames are plated in zinc for rust prevention. There are grease fittings for the bearings in the wheel. Rigid plate casters are usually attached to machinery at the opposite end of the push handle and where casters with swivels are attached. This enables the employee pushing the equipment to be able to control the line of travel. It should also be stressed that rigid plate casters have two legs perpendicular to the mount plate, preventing sideways movement. Equipment with two rigid casters and two swivel casters must be handled into position. Capacity up to 7,000 pounds per plate caster. Model 30 features a large swivel and wheel bearing which allows for heavy loads and more arduous service. V-groove caster wheels are designed to guide equipment by rolling on inverted angle iron track. Elevated track minimizes problems caused by floor debris. The relief groove at the base of the “V” equalizes the load on each face of the angle for balanced load distribution. Ductile steel V-groove wheels are selected due to their ductility and tensile strength of 45,000 psi. These solid steel wheels are incredibly durable in normal service and their load ratings are limited by bearing capacity only. Caster City manufactures all of our steel wheels with a lubrication fitting in the hub. We offer Ductile steel V-groove wheels with a variety of bearing choices for optimal performance in different applications. V-groove wheels are available with 7/8″ groove width for 1″ angle iron or 1-3/8″ groove depth for 1.5″ angle iron. When not operating on track, the considerable wheel tread on each side of the V-groove allows for use on smooth floors. Ductile steel V-groove caster wheels can withstand high temperatures up to 700°F depending upon the application. Ideal for food processing ovens, textile manufacturing, and mining operations.
