Description

The Model 9 swivel casters are our most popular industrial caster for many reasons but largely because of its low cost and wide selection of wheels.  Under the mounting plate it has 2 rows of balls rotating on raceways treated for heat.  The swivel has a bolt and nut center pin welded to withstand normal abuse in a manually moved application.  The center bolt diameter is 5/8” and the leg thickness is 1/4”, welded on the inside and out.  The metal frames are zinc plated for rust resistance, and it has grease oil fittings for all flexible parts.  Model 9 has a vast selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications.  Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request.

DO NOT ORDER SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS IF YOU ORDER THE TL – TOTAL LOCK BRAKE. THE TL BRAKE WILL NOT WORK WITH EITHER THE SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS.

Our “NP” high temperature wheels, constructed from nylon mixed with glass fibers, are tailored for 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters with a 2-inch width for heavy duty industrial casters in model 9, supporting up to 1000 lbs per wheel for the 8×2 size in moist high heat environments like smokehouses, moist heat bakery ovens, autoclaves, and pressurized steam-autoclaves. These high heat casters handle continuous operation up to 425°F and can take 475°F to 550°F for 30 minutes intermittently, needing to cool to room temperature afterward to keep their lifespan intact. The hard, brittle, non-marking surface of these heat caster wheels requires smooth, flat floors, as rough surfaces or obstructions can wear them down, making them a top choice for high temperature wheel applications in wet, steamy model 9 setups where durability is critical.

Designed exclusively for moist high heat, these “NP” high temperature casters and wheels will shatter in dry heat environments like powder coating ovens when their moisture content drops to zero, unlike our “TP” high temperature wheels built for dry heat. Their moisture-resistant build makes them ideal for model 9 applications involving water or steam, delivering reliable performance for heavy duty casters in food processing or sterilization settings. By using these heavy duty industrial casters on smooth floors and shielding them from direct heat sources, model 9 users get tough, long-lasting mobility for demanding moist high heat operations.

FAQ

“NP” High Temperature Glass-Filled Nylon Wheels in Model 9

What material are “NP” high temperature wheels for model 9 made of?

Our “NP” high temperature wheels are built from nylon mixed with glass fibers, creating a hard, brittle surface for heavy duty industrial casters that excel in moist high heat environments like smokehouses, moist heat bakery ovens, or pressurized steam-autoclaves.

What makes “NP” high heat casters ideal for moist high heat applications?

These high heat casters and wheels are designed for moist heat only, thriving in wet, steamy conditions like smokehouses, moist heat bakery ovens, autoclaves, and pressurized steam-autoclaves, where their moisture-resistant build prevents degradation and supports reliable load handling.

What are the best applications for “NP” high temperature casters in model 9?

“NP” high temperature wheels in model 9 are perfect for moist high heat settings, such as smokehouses for meat processing, moist heat bakery ovens for steam-based baking, autoclaves for sterilization, and pressurized steam-autoclaves for lab or medical equipment, where they roll smoothly under heavy loads.

What’s the temperature range for “NP” heavy duty casters in moist high heat?

These high temperature casters handle continuous operation up to 425°F and can hit 475°F to 550°F for 30 minutes max in moist high heat. Cool them to room temperature after use to keep their service life strong, especially in steam-heavy environments.

What sizes do “NP” industrial casters for model 9 come in?

Our “NP” casters and wheels for model 9 are available in 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters, all with a 2” tread width, offering versatile options for high temperature wheel applications in moist high heat settings.

What’s the load capacity of “NP” high heat casters in model 9?

The “NP” high temperature wheel in the 8×2 size supports up to 1000 lbs per wheel in model 9, ideal for heavy duty industrial casters in moist high heat applications. Smaller sizes (4”, 5”, 6”) typically handle lower loads, around 600–800 lbs, depending on the setup.

Can “NP” heavy duty casters be used on rough or uneven floors?

Nope, “NP” high temperature wheels are hard and brittle, built for smooth, flat floor surfaces only. Rough floors or obstructions will damage these industrial casters and cut their life short in moist high heat environments.

Why can’t “NP” high heat casters be used in dry heat environments?

“NP” heat casters are made for moist high heat only. In dry heat, like powder coating ovens or dry heat autoclaves, their moisture content drops to zero, causing the wheel to shatter. For dry heat, use our “TP” high temperature wheels instead.

How do I protect “NP” high temperature wheels in moist high heat settings?

Shield “NP” heavy duty industrial casters from direct heat sources, like open flames or intense radiant heat, to prevent damage and maintain top performance in moist high heat environments like autoclaves or smokehouses.

Are “NP” casters and wheels non-marking in moist high heat applications?

Yes, the glass-filled nylon build of “NP” high temperature wheels is non-marking, protecting smooth floors in smokehouses, moist heat bakeries, or pressurized steam-autoclave setups, even under heavy loads and high heat.

What types of moist high heat environments are best for “NP” high temperature casters?

These high heat casters excel in environments with water or steam, such as smokehouses for curing meats, moist heat bakery ovens using steam for crusty breads, autoclaves for sterilizing medical tools, and pressurized steam-autoclaves operating at high pressures (e.g., 15–30 PSI) for lab equipment.

Can “NP” high temperature wheels handle temperatures above 550°F?

No, running “NP” heat caster wheels above 425°F for more than 30 minutes or beyond 550°F will shorten their life. Always cool them down to room temperature after high heat exposure in moist environments to avoid damage.

How do “NP” high heat casters perform in pressurized steam-autoclaves?

“NP” high temperature casters are built for pressurized steam-autoclaves, withstanding moist high heat (e.g., 15 PSI at 250°F or 29 PSI at 273°F) and resisting corrosion from steam, making them ideal for model 9 in medical or lab sterilization processes.

What’s the difference between “NP” and “TP” high temperature casters for model 9?

“NP” high heat casters are designed for moist high heat (e.g., autoclaves, smokehouses), while “TP” high temperature wheels are for dry high heat (e.g., powder coating, dry heat ovens). “NP” wheels shatter in dry heat, and “TP” wheels fail in moist heat, so choose based on your model 9 environment.

Why are smooth floors critical for “NP” heavy duty casters in model 9?

The hard, brittle surface of “NP” high temperature wheels can crack or wear out on rough or uneven floors, especially under high heat and heavy loads. Smooth, flat floors ensure long-lasting performance for these industrial casters in moist high heat settings.

How does the glass-filled nylon material benefit “NP” high heat casters in moist heat?

The nylon and glass fiber blend in “NP” high temperature wheels resists moisture and steam corrosion, maintaining strength and durability in wet, high heat environments like smokehouses or autoclaves, unlike other materials that degrade in moist conditions.

Can “NP” high temperature casters be used in food processing environments?

Yes, “NP” high heat casters are suitable for food processing in moist high heat settings like smokehouses or moist heat bakery ovens, where their non-marking, moisture-resistant design supports hygiene and durability for model 9 applications.

What maintenance is needed for “NP” high temperature wheels in moist high heat?

After use in moist high heat, cool “NP” high temperature wheels to room temperature, clean off any debris, and inspect for cracks, especially after high-temperature cycles (e.g., 475°F–550°F). Keep them shielded from direct heat sources to maximize their lifespan.
