The Rigid Plate Caster Model 3 is the matching rigid for the Model 3 Swivel Caster. The mounting plate measures 2-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ and the hole pattern is 1-3/4″ x 3″, slotted to 1-3/4″ x 2-7/8″ and is designed for 5/16″ mounting bolts. This caster uses a 3/8″ diameter bolt axle with a locking nut and uses 1-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ wide wheels. Welded leg construction. Multiple wheels and brake options are offered. When manually moving equipment supported by 4 swivel casters the direction of travel can be difficult to control. Rigid casters are primarily used to control direction when moving equipment in a straight line. Equipment with rigids installed can not move sideways. Ideal for restaurant bussing carts, catering equipment, and hotel housekeeping trolleys. This plate caster is NSF listed. This caster is also available in Stainless Steel for wet or corrosive environments.

This caster comes with a gray, non-marking, crown tread thermoplastic rubber (TPR) tire injection molded to a polyolefin center. The crowned tread profile on the “RD” caster wheel reduces the contact area with the floor, allowing for easier swiveling and improved maneuverability under load. These caster wheels are popular on equipment in pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, food service and other institutional applications. Soft rubber provides more desirable operating characteristics than any other wheel material. These gray soft rubber wheels are non-marking, quiet, absorb shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protect costly floor surfaces, and minimize vibration. These caster wheels provide a softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. The durometer of this crown tread soft gray rubber caster wheel is 75A, making it exceptionally soft and ideal for vibration absorption, noise reduction, and floor protection. This 1.25″ wide “RD” crown tread rubber caster wheel is equipped with a precision sealed ball bearing or delrin bearing. These caster wheels should not be left standing under load for extended periods as the tires may take a permanent “set” or develop flat spots.
