Plate Caster Model 9 Swivel Casters are the most popular industrial caster because of the low cost and the widest variety of wheel choices available. The swivel section features 2 rows of balls that rotate on heat treated raceways beneath the mounting plate. A nut and bolt center pin is welded to endure everyday abuse in manually pushed equipment. The kingpin bolt diameter is 5/8″ and the 1/4″ thick legs are welded on the inside and outside. The axle diameter is 1/2″, designed to use wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. Constructed from stamped steel, the zinc plated metal frames resist corrosion. All moveable parts have lubrication fittings. Model 9 has a broad selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks for most applications. Ideal for concrete plants, aggregate operations, and masonry supply yards. Other plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also manufactured in 304 Stainless Steel for wet or corrosive applications.
The “WF” Water Fighterâ„¢ wheel from Caster City is a water-resistant polyurethane caster wheel engineered to outlast standard polyurethane in wet service by years. Standard polyurethane wheels use polyester chemistry that breaks down when exposed to water — a process called hydrolysis. The Water Fighter uses polyether chemistry instead, where the molecular structure provides no point of attack for water molecules. This blue-on-gray wheel features a 2″ wide polyurethane tire mechanically bonded to a polyolefin core. Durometer Shore D60 with an operating temperature range of -30°F to 180°F. Available in 4″, 5″, 6″, and 8″ diameters with capacities up to 500 lbs per caster. Non-marking and chemical resistant. Comes with precision sealed ball bearings. Ideal for outdoor equipment, marina facilities, and humid warehouse environments.
