Description

Model 9 Rigid Plate Casters are the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When manually moving equipment supported by 4 swivel casters it can be hard to steer in a straight line. Rigid casters are primarily used to control the direction when moving equipment in straight line travel. Equipment with rigids can not move sideways. These casters are usually attached to the opposite end of where the push handle is located. Leg thickness is 1/4″ and the axle diameter is 1/2″, designed for wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. Stamped steel construction. Rigid casters are able to support more weight than swivel casters because of no offset, yet both rigid and swivel casters are shown with the same capacity on our website. Ideal for paint booth operations, powder coating lines, and surface finishing equipment. Other mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also offered in 304 Stainless Steel for corrosive or wet service.
Polyurethane Caster Wheels from Caster City offer superior performance compared to rubber wheels, excelling in resistance to grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. The polyurethane tread is chemically bonded to an iron core and is available in green (PY) or red (PYR). These caster wheels can be used on almost any factory floor. Tire Hardness is Durometer: 95A. Temperature range is -20°F to 180°F. The primary advantage of polyurethane wheels over rubber is their significantly higher load capacity – up to three times that of a comparable rubber wheel under ideal conditions on smooth floors. While polyurethane wheels roll more easily than rubber at the same load, they may become less easy-rolling when pushed to their maximum capacity. Capacity ratings are offered as an idea of what the wheel will carry without failure and depend on the usage and service. Available with plain bore, precision sealed ball bearings, roller bearings. Ideal for chemical processing equipment, cement plant operations, and mining operations.

*This Plate Caster Model 9 contains the Green Polyurethane on Iron with Roller Bearing in the Wheel.
