Description

Green Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon Wheels are currently unavailable. When ordering, you will receive the Red Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon equivalent.

The Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the Zinc-Plated Total Locking Kingpinless Plate Caster Model G15 is a great choice for heavy-duty institutional needs in labs, hospitals, and food processing plants where heavy loads, quiet rolling, and mobility are critical. This liquid cast polyurethane industrial caster wheel is chemically bonded to a very strong glass-reinforced nylon center, made in 2” wide with 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” diameters, holding up to 1500 lbs per wheel at room temperature on smooth floors from -20°F to 180°F, with a durometer of 90-95 Shore A. It rolls easier than the same size conventional rubber caster wheel, protects floors better than metal wheels, and can withstand impacts better than conventional polyurethane on plastic center hubs, offering quieter rolling for noise-sensitive environments. The glass-filled nylon core won’t corrode when exposed to elements or chemicals, and the polyurethane tire is more resistant to flat-spotting than standard polyurethanes, making it ideal for heavy loads while still providing floor protection compared to hard composition wheels. The wheel is designed to fit on a ½” axle bolt and comes with either roller bearings, sealed precision ball bearings, or stainless steel bearings for smooth rolling.

The zinc-plated kingpinless caster assembly, made from stamped steel with ¼” thick legs welded to the precision machined swivel bearing, offers easier swivel rotation, reduced vibration, and longer trouble-free performance for both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment, with lubrication fittings for movable parts and a larger swivel radius on 6” and 8” wheels to reduce shimmy vibration. A heavy-duty total lock brake locks both the wheel and the swivel on this industrial caster at the same time, ensuring equipment like carts and tables stays completely immobile when the brake is engaged, making it ideal for safety in institutional settings. Total locking casters are important because in cutting, welding, sawing, or similar tasks, people will lean against the worktable while doing their dangerous cut, and the total lock caster prevents anything in the caster from moving, totally immobilizing wheel and swivel rotation of the caster. The zinc-plated assembly adds durability with rust resistance, giving reliable performance in dry settings like labs or hospital kitchens, making this industrial kingpinless plate caster a great fit for equipment needing reduced vibration, quiet rolling, and mobility in institutional environments.

This caster is available in Stainless Steel.  This Stainless Steel caster is NSF and ROHS compliant and comes with a broad selection of 2” wide wheels to choose from that are also NSF and ROHS compliant.

*This Plate Caster Model G15 contains the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon Wheel. Roller Bearing. The caster shown in photo with 6″x2″ wheel.

FAQ

Zinc-Plated Kingpinless Plate Caster Model G15 with 2-Inch Wide Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel

What material is the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel made from in the Zinc-Plated Kingpinless Plate Caster Model G15?

The Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the Model G15 industrial kingpinless caster has liquid cast polyurethane chemically bonded to a very strong glass-reinforced nylon center, with a durometer of 90-95 Shore A for smooth, quiet rolling in demanding settings.

What applications are best for the industrial kingpinless caster with Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheels in labs and hospitals?

The industrial kingpinless caster with Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheels is perfect for labs, hospitals, and food processing plants in institutional settings, where a plate mount caster moves equipment like carts and tables on smooth floors in dry environments, offering quiet rolling and impact resistance for noise-sensitive areas.

What bearing types come with the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the heavy-duty industrial caster?

The Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the heavy-duty industrial caster can come equipped with either roller bearings, sealed precision ball bearings, or stainless steel ball or roller bearings, ensuring smooth rolling in institutional applications on smooth floors.

Can the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the heavy-duty industrial caster roll on rough floors?

No, the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the heavy-duty industrial caster is built for smooth floor surfaces only—rough floors or obstructions will damage these zinc-plated casters and shorten their life.

Are the zinc-plated casters with Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheels good for standing loads?

The zinc-plated casters with Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheels are more resistant to flat-spotting than standard polyurethanes, but it’s still best not to exceed 70% of the rated capacity for applications parked for prolonged periods to ensure longevity.

How do I protect the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the Zinc-Plated Kingpinless Plate Caster Model G15 from damage?

Keep the Polyurethane on Glass-Filled Nylon (UG) Caster Wheel in the Model G15 industrial kingpinless caster free from shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, poor floors, rack washers, and exposure to some chemicals, impact, or heat buildup from continuous usage, which can weaken the bonding agent holding the tire to its nylon center and affect the zinc-plated construction’s performance.
