Rigid Model 9 Caster is the matching plate caster for the Model 9 Swivel. When moving equipment by hand on 4 swivel casters it can be difficult to control which direction you are traveling. Rigid casters help control direction when equipment is moving in a straight line. Machinery with rigid casters can not move sideways. Rigid casters are typically connected at the opposite end from the push handle. Leg thickness is 1/4″ with a 1/2″ diameter axle, designed to accept wheels with a 2 7/16″ hub width. Constructed from stamped steel, rigid casters can carry more weight than swivels because they do not have an offset, yet on our website both types are shown with the same capacity. Ideal for plant maintenance carts, tool cribs, and die storage racks. Additional mounting plate sizes and wheel bearing types are available on request. This caster is also manufactured in 304 Stainless Steel for environments exposed to moisture or chemicals.

Semi-Pneumatic wheels feature an extra thick solid soft rubber tire on an industrial plastic wheel center. No air in the tire means no flat tire risk. Help reduce vibration and shock caused by floor surfaces which are not smooth. The footprint is slightly less than a full pneumatic but capacity is greater. Should not be used on sand or gravel but can be used on grass and other surfaces. Black soft rubber tires contain carbon black and can mark floors if wheel is dragged instead of allowed to roll. Ideal for indoor and outdoor applications.
