Description

Model G15 industrial casters contain a well-defined machined swivel bearing.  This design provides excellent performance on both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment.  Benefits include easier swivel rotation, decreased vibration, and longer trouble free performance.  The metal frames are zinc plated for rust resistance, and there are lubrication fittings for all moveable parts.  Plate Caster Model G15 has a wide selection of wheel brakes and swivel locks.  We offer the same selection of wheels as shown in Model 9, and in many instances the wheels have a higher load capacity rating in Model G15.  One popular option is a larger swivel radius in Model G15 Casters with 6” and 8” wheel diameters.  A bigger turn lessens the vibration and makes it easier to move.  This caster comes with a 1/2” diameter axle with a locking nut.  This swivel caster is made of hot=forged construction with legs welded to the swivel bearing. This caster is available in Stainless Steel.  This Stainless Steel caster is NSF and ROHS compliant and comes with a broad selection of 2” wide wheels to choose from that are also NSF and ROHS compliant.

This caster is equipped with a 2” wide PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel, featuring a liquid cast polyurethane tire chemically bonded to a heavy-duty iron center for maximum durability in demanding industrial settings. The PYC wheel, Caster City’s highest volume and best-selling polyurethane wheel, is designed to sustain industrial abuse, offering a Shore A 90-95 durometer and a temperature range of -20°F to 180°F, with a slight crown tread that reduces friction and enhances maneuverability on smooth floors, making it a top choice for heavy-duty applications in warehouses and distribution centers.

The PYC wheel fits a 1/2” axle bolt and comes with a standard roller bearing or optional sealed precision ball bearings, providing higher capacity than a same-sized rubber wheel and rolling easier under load while protecting floors better than metal wheels. The bonding agent can be affected by chemicals, impact, overloading, or heat buildup, so it’s not suited for harsh impacts, continuous use, or prolonged standing loads. The Model G15 with PYC wheel supports up to 1500 lbs per caster, with a mounting plate of 4″ x 4-1/2″ (bolt hole pattern 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ to 3″ x 3″), and is available online at Caster City with a fast lead time; contact Caster City at 800-501-3808 for ordering assistance.

FAQ

Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel

What is the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel is a heavy-duty caster made from zinc-plated steel, designed for industrial applications. It has a kingpinless design with a precision-machined swivel bearing, a 1/2” stainless steel axle with a locking nut, and lubrication fittings, supporting up to 1500 lbs per caster. The 2” wide blue polyurethane wheel (Shore A 90-95, -20°F to 180°F) has a liquid cast tire bonded to an iron center, with roller bearings or sealed precision ball bearings.

What are kingpinless casters, and what makes them great?

Kingpinless casters, like the Model G15, lack a traditional central kingpin, using a precision-machined swivel bearing to connect the top plate and yoke, distributing loads more evenly. This design reduces wear, allows easier swivel rotation, lowers vibration, and extends durability, making them great for both manually moved and mechanically powered equipment in demanding industrial settings where reliability and smooth operation are critical.

What environments is the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel suited for?

This caster is designed for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers needing heavy-duty mobility and floor protection. Its zinc-plated steel frame resists rust in dry environments, but it’s not suited for washdown or highly corrosive settings due to the zinc plating.

What is the weight capacity of the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel supports up to 1500 lbs per caster for manual or mechanically powered movement. Divide the total equipment load by the number of casters to avoid overloading on uneven surfaces.

What is the temperature range of the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The blue polyurethane wheel operates in temperatures from -20°F to 180°F, suitable for light-duty applications in dry settings. For higher temperature needs, consult Caster City at 800-501-3808 to explore alternative wheel options.

What are the key features of the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

It features a zinc-plated steel frame, a kingpinless design with a precision-machined swivel bearing, and a 1/2” stainless steel axle with a locking nut and lubrication fittings. The 2” wide blue polyurethane wheel (Shore A 90-95) has higher capacity than rubber wheels, rolls easier under load, and uses roller bearings or sealed precision ball bearings, with a mounting plate of 4″ x 4-1/2″ (bolt hole pattern 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ to 3″ x 3″), using 3/8″ bolts.

What wheel options are available for the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The Model G15 comes with a 2” wide blue polyurethane wheel (3” to 8” diameters) with roller bearings or sealed precision ball bearings, but other 2” wide wheel options include Nylon for strength, Polyolefin for sanitation, and TPR Rubber for quiet operation, often with higher load ratings than the Model 9.

Is the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel resistant to chemicals?

The blue polyurethane wheel resists many chemicals and solvents, making it suitable for dry industrial settings with light chemical exposure, though harsh chemicals may affect the tire bonding over time. The zinc-plated steel frame offers limited corrosion resistance in dry environments but is not suited for washdown or highly corrosive conditions.

What is the durometer of the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The blue polyurethane wheel has a Shore A durometer of 90 to 95, providing a balance of capacity and floor protection in light-duty applications, though it may be affected by prolonged standing loads.

What is the lead time for the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The Model G15 has a fast lead time, typically 2 days, allowing quick delivery for industrial buyers. Orders can be placed through Caster City’s website or by calling 800-501-3808 for prompt processing.

What are the mounting specifications for the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel?

The caster has a top plate size of 4″ x 4-1/2″ with bolt hole spacing of 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ to 3″ x 3″, and uses 3/8″ mounting bolts. This setup ensures secure attachment to equipment for industrial applications on smooth floors.

How should the Plate Caster Model G15 with PYC Slight Crown Heavy Duty Blue Polyurethane on Iron Wheel be maintained?

Lubricate the axle regularly using the fitting to ensure smooth movement, and clean the caster to remove debris. Avoid prolonged standing loads, harsh impacts, or chemical exposure to prevent damage to the wheel’s bonding agent, maintaining performance in dry environments.
